No one with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis should have to wait days—or weeks—for insurance approval while their health hangs in the balance. A new federal proposal would require some insurers to respond to doctor-prescribed treatments within 72 hours (and faster in emergencies), bringing much-needed urgency and transparency to care. 🔗 Take action: https://bit.ly/4nFjSrJ

If you live with IBD, it can be hard to know when a flare is something you can manage at home—and when it’s a true emergency that requires a trip to the emergency department.

Join us for “IBD Flares: Emergencies and Hospitalizations,” a webinar for people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. IBD experts will review red-flag symptoms, when to seek urgent or emergency care, and how to create an emergency plan with your care team so you can feel more prepared and confident.

Ever felt like you had to keep your diagnosis quiet out of fear of being judged?

Meet Simran, a teen with Crohn’s disease who expected her first Take Steps walk to be quiet and serious—but instead found music, energy, and a sea of bright green T‑shirts that made her feel part of something bigger for the first time since her diagnosis. Just a week later, she went to Camp Oasis, the Foundation’s summer camp for kids and teens with IBD, where she connected with other young people who truly understood what she was going through.

“Take Steps is one of the few places where I feel completely understood, and I want others to share that feeling,” Simran says.

Read more of Simran’s story in our latest blog, and sign up for a Take Steps walk near you: https://bit.ly/4vbOHXJ
