She's baaaaaaaaaack!

After a two-year hiatus, our beloved former Office Manager, Stephanie Matern, has returned to our team as Circle of Hope's new Director of Operations! To say we are excited to have her back would be an understatement. Please join us in welcoming her back, and stay tuned for more exciting staff updates!

We have received multiple requests for hundreds of pairs of new shoes for families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Shoes are one of our trickier items -- even gently used shoes tend to be pretty worn down, and they are very expensive to buy in bulk.

But EVERYONE needs them. Without at least one pair of well-fitting shoes, children can't go to school or play outside comfortably, adults can't go to work, doctor's appointments, or even the grocery store, and our unsheltered neighbors are at even greater risk of serious health complications.

Which brings us to our request: WE NEED A SHOE PARTNER! Or two, or ten. We will take any number of new sneakers or winter boots for any age, in any size.

Every year, Boston Police Department District E-13 holds a graduation celebration for high school seniors heading off to college in the fall. We're proud to provide Get Set packages to these Boston-area grads, providing brand new bedding, towels, and other dorm essentials and helping clear the path to their goals. Congrats, grads!

As always, we had a blast at National Night Out, an annual event meant to strengthen the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and build more community connections! We enjoyed meeting residents of Jamaica Plain, distributing hygiene kits and socks, and connecting with our partners in Boston Police Department District E-13, elected officials, and Boston-area service providers. We're grateful to join National Night Out every year and even more grateful to partner with BPD to provide clothing and hygiene essentials to hundreds of Bostonians experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity!

Together, we're alleviating hygiene insecurity right here at home!

Circle of Hope stocked the Needham Community Pantry with hygiene essentials to help ensure local families have access to everyday items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant. These items are essential for physical and mental health, support school attendance, and clear barriers to important opportunities like job interviews, but they are unfortunately not covered by SNAP benefits.

Basic necessities should never be out of reach. 💜💚
