Our mission is to protect and empower individuals living in distress. We provide supplemental groceries and family-strengthening tools. In addition, we foster positive community relations at our physical locations, mobile ministry sites, and the streets we serve in West and North Nashville. When we began our mission in 2013, generational poverty and oppression long plagued neighborhoods in the 40t

h Avenue Clifton corridor of West Nashville. We asked our neighbors, “What do you need?”. We listened with compassion and took action together. We found that genuine relationship, not just another program, transforms people’s lives and communities. We’ve planted roots on forgotten streets in West Nashville for almost ten years, forming a family of dreamers– volunteers, donors, and community members who choose hope over hopelessness. Meet one of our incredible Dream Streets community members, and the heart behind Sweet Blessings Treats, Kiana!

While living at James R. Brown Place, she found more than a place to live. Through access to resources, regular support from staff, and the community around her, she found mental clarity, peace, and the confidence to keep moving forward.

That support has continued to overflow into Sweet Blessings Treats, the business she started during the pandemic and has grown from a food truck into a brick and mortar bakery in Donelson!

As she put it, “I have been able to pour into Sweet Blessings Treats bakery with my overflow.” And that is exactly what we love about the work we do. When people are given the support and space to thrive, the impact doesn’t stop with them. It reaches their families, their businesses, and their communities.

We are so proud of her journey and can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for Sweet Blessings Treats!

This is what collective impact looks like!

Coca-Cola Consolidated spent the day with us giving our North Building a makeover! From painting to mulching, they did it all, and they didn’t stop there.

After a full day, they joined us at our Mobile Food site, helping us get food into the hands of our neighbors and experiencing this part of our mission firsthand.

Meet Christy, one of the incredible members of our Dream Streets board!

When she’s not supporting the work of Dream Streets, you can find Christy tackling a good house DIY, wandering through a farmers market, or spending time with her family. At the heart of who she is, Christy loves witnessing the work of God in the lives of those around her and creating spaces where people feel loved, seen and like they belong.

Christy has been connected to Dream Streets since day one, drawn to the hands-on, relationship-centered nature of the work. As she puts it, “Dream Streets is not just ‘in’ the community…it is ‘part of’ the community.”

We’re so grateful for the heart and passion Christy brings to Dream Streets and the communities we serve!

One last staff hang before summer comes to a close!

Our team split into red and blue for an afternoon of game show-style competitions, earning points with every challenge along the way. It all came down to a Jeopardy-inspired final round where the red team secured the win!

From demo with Tiny's Demolition & Recycling to a total bathroom glow up from Nova Constructors!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped renovate the bathrooms at the James R. Brown Transitional Housing Facility! These refreshed spaces are more than just a fresh coat of paint. They repaired water damage and replaced our entire ceiling so that our residents can have a safer and nicer shower room to use moving forward!

We’re so grateful for every person who gave their time, talents, and resources to make this transformation possible. Thank you for giving these bathrooms the glow up they deserved!
