Avow opens Fort Myers office to serve Lee County families

We are proud to announce the opening of Avow’s new Fort Myers office, marking an important milestone in our commitment to expanding access to compassionate care across Southwest Florida. On October 8, Avow leadership, board members, community partners and local officials gathered for a ribbon-cutting celebration at our new location in the Banyan Building on College Parkway. Our growing commitment to Lee County includes:

$10 million+ in planned investments this year
85+ Lee County residents hired
500+ Lee County patients served so far in 2026
Plans for a future 40,000-square-foot facility at Hope Preserve

Avow recently celebrated the retirement of Suzanne Kappert, founder of AmeriCare, Avow’s home health company. With more than 40 years of service as a registered nurse, Suzanne built a career rooted in compassion and a lifelong commitment to caring for others.

🌟 Celebrating Avow’s October Shining Star of the Month: Licensed Massage Therapist, Maria!

Maria brings compassion, attentiveness, and personalized care to every patient she serves. In hospice care, massage therapy can offer more than physical comfort. It can help ease tension, promote relaxation, and provide a soothing sense of connection.

One patient shared: “I spent 30 years in the Navy, and I can honestly say that the massages Maria gives are the best I’ve ever experienced. She takes the time to understand my situation and adapts her care to meet my needs. She is truly wonderful.”

🌿 Sometimes, the best way to navigate big emotions starts with connecting to the world around us.

Avow Kids recently took a field trip to Naples Botanical Garden for Garden Sensations, where children used their five senses to explore nature, build vocabulary, and practice mindfulness. Whether a child is coping with the loss of a loved one or navigating a tough week at school, learning healthy coping skills can help them process emotions and build resilience.

Meet Avow’s Pet Peace of Mind Volunteers 🐾

Pets are family. They offer companionship and unconditional love, especially during life’s most difficult moments. For hospice patients, being able to care for and stay connected to a beloved pet can mean so much.

That’s where Avow’s Pet Peace of Mind program comes in.

Our specially trained volunteers help hospice patients in Collier County care for their furry, feathered, and finned family members. From dog walking and litter box cleaning to transportation for veterinary and grooming appointments, they help ease the stress of pet care. Volunteers can even arrange visits with pets who have found new homes, helping patients stay connected to companions they love.

Avow is proud to announce a $40,000 grant from the Moorings Park Foundation to strengthen access to compassionate palliative care across Southwest Florida.

Through this investment, Avow expects to serve at least 600 seniors living with chronic, serious and life-limiting illnesses, helping patients manage symptoms, maintain independence and make informed healthcare decisions aligned with their goals and values. Funding will support enhanced symptom management, care coordination, proactive patient monitoring, advance care planning and physician fellowship training. We are grateful to the Moorings Park Foundation for its partnership and commitment to helping patients and families experience greater comfort, dignity and quality of life throughout the care journey.
