Naples Pathways Coalition

Naples Pathways Coalition Our goal is to increase the number of people who safely bike and walk as an alternate form of transportation and for recreation.

We advocate for bicyclists and pedestrians, educate road users through engaging programs and events, actively drive change and combat distracted driving, while empowering community advocacy for safer, more bikeable, and walkable neighborhoods. Naples Pathways Coalition is a non-profit advocacy group dedicated to improving the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, working for the protection of and eq

ual access for vulnerable road users. Our keystone project is the Paradise Coast Trail, which will be a 70+ mile paved pathway, separated from the road, connecting Naples to areas within and beyond Collier County. With the rapidly increasing population growth in Collier County and the number of new developments that Southwest Florida is experiencing, it is more important than ever before for NPC and our supporters’ voices to be heard regarding the safety of pedestrians and people riding bikes. When new roads are being designed or existing roads are being improved, we work with policymakers to ensure the needs of vulnerable road users are planned for and included in the design. As noted, our keystone project is the Paradise Coast Trail (the PCT), which will connect Naples, Ave Maria, Immokalee, Bonita Springs, and other areas within and beyond Collier County with a safe, multi-use pathway. It will expand transportation options, improve health and wellness, reduce our carbon footprint, and provide a destination to experience the Paradise Coast's unique beauty. The PCT will drive quality of life and healthier lifestyles, yield economic benefits to the county, increases property values, and enable greater safety for walkers, runners, recreational and commuter bicyclists.

🚲 As National Bike Month comes to a close, the work to create safer streets continues every single day.

Last week, despite the rain, our community showed up for the National Ride of Silence to honor cyclists who have been injured or killed on our roads and to raise awareness for safer conditions for everyone who bikes and walks. 🕊️

The statistics in Florida are sobering:
⚠️ Thousands of bicycle crashes happen every year
⚠️ Hundreds of cyclists lose their lives on our roadways
⚠️ Distracted driving continues to be one of the biggest threats to vulnerable road users

But events like this remind us that there is a strong community committed to making change happen.

Naples Pathways Coalition will continue to advocate for safer streets, fight against distracted driving, and work toward more bike- and pedestrian-friendly communities throughout Collier County.

Thank you to everyone who rode with us. 🌴

🚲 Ride together. Ride visible. Ride safe.
Our NPC cycling kits carry an important reminder for every driver on the road:

➡️ Share the Road
➡️ 3 Feet — It’s the Law

Group rides are a great way to build community, stay active, and enjoy Naples on two wheels — but safety always comes first.

Drivers: please slow down, stay alert, and give cyclists at least 3 feet when passing.

Cyclists: ride predictably, communicate with your group, and stay visible out on the open roads.

We all play a role in creating safer streets. 🌴

A rash of crashes shows a dangerous rivalry won't let up. Why are drivers and bicyclists seemingly always at odds?
