The Block is a simple, accessible, inspirational space where honest music can happen—not to you, but with you.

A place where music pushes the boundaries of tradition and expectation and encourages investigation. Concerts at The Block will include an intriguing, cross-pollinated mix of music that can be intimate or explosive, but always entertaining. From timpanists who perform on cardboard boxes to klezmer-meets-Bollywood with a splash of bluegrass to jazz and Broadway influenced cabaret performances . The Block is located on the second floor of 360 W. Western Avenue in an 1800 square foot space with flexible seating on two levels for approximately 148 audience members.

🎹🎷🎶 Music brings us together!
While in town for Saturday night’s performance at The Block, Jeff Haas and his Quintet took time this morning to connect with over 150 students from Marquette and North Muskegon through Building Bridges with Music, Jeff’s nonprofit dedicated to promoting open-mindedness and respect through music.

Through interactive live music, storytelling, and activities, students explored empathy, teamwork, and seeing the world from different perspectives. Before long, students were up and dancing, bringing the room to life and showing just how powerfully music can bring people together!

We’re excited to share two special partner events as part of the Third Coast Trombone Retreat—a week-long immersive experience bringing top trombone talent from across the country to the shores of Lake Michigan.
