🔨 NEW NCTA PARTNERSHIP | BUILDING SKILLS. BUILDING COMMUNITY.

Northwest Career & Technical Academy is excited to announce a new partnership with Skagit Habitat for Humanity!

Through this partnership, NCTA students will have new opportunities to connect classroom learning with hands-on experiences that strengthen our local community.

We are especially excited that three NCTA students in our TPAP Construction Program will have the opportunity to participate in Women Build in La Conner. Women Build is designed to encourage more women to explore and feel confident in the skilled trades. Participants work alongside construction professionals, Habitat homebuyers and experienced volunteers while helping build a home for a local family.

No previous construction experience is required. It is about learning, working together and discovering what is possible when you are willing to pick up a tool and give it a try.

Additional NCTA students who are 18+, as well as staff and families, are also encouraged to participate in Women Build.

A huge thank you to Skagit Habitat for Humanity for welcoming NCTA students and helping us create more pathways from high school into the skilled trades.

Participants will receive a T-shirt, their own hardhat, and a lunch will be provided. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill, or contribute your experience to building affordable housing alongside other women in our community.

Until the end of this month your donated metal can help build affordable homes in Skagit County!

Skagit River Steel & Recycling is helping raise funds for Skagit Habitat for Humanity via their Donate at the Gate program, through the end of September!

The value of all metal recycled through Donate at the Gate July - September will be donated to Skagit Habitat! Drop off scrap metals, including old tools, appliances, car parts, wire, Christmas lights, and more, and help build homes, community, and hope right here in Skagit County.

Did you know about Habitat Helpers?

Skagit Habitat for Humanity's Critical Home Repair Program helps homeowners throughout Skagit County maintain and preserve the homes they already have by addressing critical entry-point repairs, including porches, steps, railings, wheelchair ramps, porch posts, and other accessibility improvements. These repairs improve safety, accessibility, and quality of life while supporting long-term housing sustainability in Skagit County.

The before-and-after porch repair featured here was completed by our dedicated volunteer-led Critical Repair Team, who help keep the cost of these repairs low. Volunteers help extend our mission beyond by helping our neighbors remain safely in the homes they love.

With all of the repair and prep work done by our construction volunteers and the volunteers from MOUNTAIN PACIFIC BANK , we have repaired the south facing exterior of our store! It is now ready for the finally round of primer and then paint! This is a great opportunity for individuals or small groups.

Community in action! 💙 🏌️‍♂️

Thank you to NPSAR and everyone who participated, volunteered, and sponsored this year's charity golf tournament. We're especially grateful for the many Skagit Habitat volunteers who showed up to help make the day possible.

What a fantastic day on the course! ☀️⛳

The NPSAR REALTOR® Charity Golf Tournament on August 13th Avalon Golf Links was a sunny, fun-filled day—and, most importantly, a day dedicated to giving back to our community.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to play, volunteer, sponsor, and support this event. Together, we raised money to support Skagit Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity of Island County, Skagit Friendship House, and the NPSAR Koetje Memorial Scholarships—four incredible organizations doing important work in our communities. ❤️
