Fire Mountain Scout Camp was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of Scouting America throughout western Washington.

This is the official page of the Fire Mountain Alumni Association who proudly tend the flame of this legendary camp! Fire Mountain is owned and operated by the Mount Baker Council, Scouting America. The Fire Mountain Alumni Association made up of past and current Fire Mountain Staff are proud to continue the legacy of adventure by supporting programs, communication and promotional efforts of the place many of us call home!

Never a quiet day at Fire Mountain! Gravel delivery to get on top of the early pot holes developing on the roads through our camp and Lions and Tiger Scouts from our local Scout Reach group up for a quick hike and s’mores!

Scouting U Announces a New Hazardous Weather Course - Weather Smart

Weather can change in an instant. Are you prepared to make the right decision when it does? Whether it’s a campout, hike, service project, or high-adventure trek, weather is key to planning a safe Scouting activity.

This new course gives leaders practical guidance to:
• Monitor changing weather conditions
• Understand watches and warnings
• Recognize severe weather risks
• Develop emergency action plans
• Know when and how to take protective action

From thunderstorms and extreme temperatures to flooding, severe storms, and hurricanes, the course focuses on real-world situations Scouting leaders may encounter.

Take the course before your next outdoor adventure and become Weather Smart!

You will be able to access this replacement course at the BSA Learn Center, https://training.scouting.org/

Please note - If you started the course but did not complete it, you will receive this new version when you relaunch the course.

Have you ever scrapped the paint on a wall while moving some furniture? Or dinged up something in the garage while backing in? Mistakes happen. We often promise ourselves we will go back and fix it but years later the damage js still there. Well at camp we do the same and a few years ago one of our wood sheds was damaged when an excavator was working near it and broke out a facia board. Ever since it’s been on the “to-do” list, but it was high up and wasn’t hurting anyone (except may the camp directors soul) so it never got done.

Thanks to John B. and Joe T. repairs were done this weekend and the wood shed is looking GOOD AS NEW!! Thanks guys, it looks GREAT!!

Fire Mountian B-P here just checking in tonight from camp. Spent the afternoon hanging out in the parking lot welcoming families for the Labor Weekend and working on the FMSC app. Did you know we have an app?? Yes indeed you can find it in both the Apple and Google Play stores for free if you search FMSC … it’s still a work in project as the camp staff and I work to fill it with tools for camp as well as the Mount Baker Council. Check it out!!

Fire Mountain B-P reporting in! Today was a fun day up at camp with a shipment of “the important papers”, a stockpile of plastic silverware and paper bowls to get us through the next few seasons. Got most of the camp core mowed with just a little of Kit Carson left. Ending the day out with a stop by Troop 4001 to check in with SM Jordan! Hope your all having a great day Scouting!

Fire Mountain is a pretty special place for our scouts and we hope to share that adventure with every scout who enters our gates. WELCOME HOME SCOUTS!!

Thanks for a great summer! The staff of the summer 2026 season is all out of camp, leaving just our Ranger Tony and Director Sven at camp. Don’t worry though the fall seasonal staff will be up starting Labor Day weekend to kick off the WKND program!
