Quiet time after rest doesnโ€™t mean learning stops at the Anacortes Discovery Center. ๐ŸŒŸ

Children are engaged in calm activities such as building, creating art, and exploring materials in meaningful ways.

Building activities help children develop problem-solving skills, spatial awareness, creativity, and teamwork as they design and construct. ๐Ÿงฑ

Art experiences encourage self-expression, fine motor development, imagination, and confidence while allowing children to explore colors, textures, and ideas. ๐ŸŽจ

Every moment of the day provides opportunities for learning, growth, and discovery โ€” even during quiet time. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿšจ Beep beep! Infant adventures coming through!

Our infant program at Whitney has been rolling in style thanks to an incredible donation that has quickly become a favorite for both children and staff! ๐Ÿค— ๐Ÿ›บ

Whether weโ€™re heading out for fresh air, exploring the area, or simply enjoying a change of scenery, this buggy has made our outings easier, safer, and a whole lot more fun!!

A very special THANK YOU to one of our wonderful infant families for generously donating this amazing addition to our program. Your kindness is already making a huge difference in the daily experiences of our little learners, and we are so grateful for your support โค๏ธ

Our infant members at Whitney have been hard at work exploring, learning, and growing every day!

One friend practiced her sitting skills while investigating a sensory bottle. Another friend spent time exploring the letters in his name. Meanwhile, a third friend enjoyed tummy time with a mirror, building important neck and core strength while discovering the smiling face looking back at him! โค๏ธ

We love watching our infants build confidence, curiosity, and new skills as they explore the world around them! โœจ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ“ Science, surprises, and a little friendly competition!

Sedro-Woolley teens had an exciting day at Skagit Valley College, where they got to witness an airbag deployment demonstration and learn about the science behind vehicle safety.

The fun didn't stop there! Teens also took part in a ping pong launcher challenge, guessing just how fast the balls could travel. While there were plenty of creative guesses, Tyler took the crown with a bold prediction of 480 mph! ๐Ÿ˜„

Experiences like these make learning interactive, memorable, and a whole lot of fun while exposing teens to new technology and career pathways.

๐Ÿž๐Ÿ“ฐ A tasty trip back to the "dinosaur ages!"

Students took on a unique challenge: read a newspaper article in exchange for a piece of garlic bread. While the reward was certainly motivating, the real goal was connecting academics with something they already love โ€” cooking.

By mixing literacy with hands-on experiences and a little fun, members are building important skills while staying engaged and curious.

After all, learning goes down a little easier with garlic bread. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ˜„

๐Ÿš›โœจ Exploring careers that keep the world moving.

MVHS teens recently had the opportunity to tour Paccar Technical Center getting a behind-the-scenes look at how these impressive trucks are built from the ground up. Along the way, they learned about the many careers involved in the process and saw firsthand how teamwork, innovation, and skilled professionals come together to make it all happen.

Hearing from employees and seeing the operation in action sparked meaningful conversations about future goals, career pathways, and the opportunities available in today's workforce.

A huge thank you to PACCAR for hosting such an engaging and informative experience for our teens! ๐Ÿ’›

Competition and friendship were both on display at LaVenture Middle School as a group of four friends faced off in an art contest put together by our staff member Felix ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‘

Even while competing against each other, the students continued encouraging one another, cheering each other on, and showing great sportsmanship throughout the contest. (Turns out you can be rivals and besties at the same time ๐Ÿ˜„)

Activities like this help students build creativity, confidence, and self-expression while also learning the importance of positive competition and supporting others. Being able to compete respectfully and celebrate each otherโ€™s efforts is a skill that goes far beyond the classroom.

Now the big question remainsโ€ฆ who will take the win? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ† Winner coming soon! ๐Ÿ’™
