Skagit Council on Aging is teaming up with Skagit Regional Health to deliver holiday comfort to our Meals on Wheels clients, and we need your help to fill every bag.

We're collecting NEW:
🧣 Blankets
🧢 Hats
🧤 Gloves
🍵 Herbal teas

How to give:
📍 Drop off at the Burlington Senior Center during business hours
🚗 Can't make it in? We'll pick up! Send us a message or call 360-872-7399 to schedule.

📅 Donations accepted through December 14th, 2026.

For many of our clients, their Meals on Wheels driver may be the only visitor they see all week. A warm hat or a cozy blanket reminds them that their community is thinking of them this holiday season. 💙

Skagit Council on Aging is currently in need of volunteers in both our Mount Vernon, and Sedro Woolley center kitchens! If you are interested in giving back to your community and enjoy spending time with our wonderful senior population, please email us for a volunteer application, or visit one of the centers!

We are also in need of a Volunteer Driver for our Concrete Route! Milage is reimbursed for this position. If you know anyone who may be a fit, please have them contact the Burlington Senior Center Kitchen.

We have some exciting news to share! 💙

Starting this fall, Skagit Council on Aging will be taking over management of the Burlington and Mount Vernon Senior Centers!

We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting seniors in our community in even more ways.

The Skagit County Commissioners are pleased to announce that Skagit Council on Aging (SCOA) has decided to take over management of the Burlington and Mount Vernon senior centers starting this fall.

SCOA is a nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to serving older adults and successfully started managing the senior nutrition program countywide this summer. As a mission-focused organization, SCOA is uniquely positioned to build community partnerships and provide services to the senior community. By bringing the senior nutrition program and senior center operations together under one organization, we are creating a stronger, more sustainable model that will serve seniors for years to come.

Throughout the transition, seniors can expect services to continue without interruption. Meals, classes, activities, and other programming will remain on their regular schedules as SCOA assumes management responsibilities.
