World largest polio walk 2026! ✔️ What a beautiful day for a good cause in a gorgeous setting! We walked around Lake Arlington which was decorated with end polio now slogans. There was music and face painting, signs and donation buckets, and lots of purple pinkies and wristbands and red End Polio Now shirts.

In total, across District 6440, about 900 Rotary members and friends representing 42 clubs in 39 communities joined the World's Largest Polio Walk and raised money to finish the job.

October 24 is both United Nations Day and World Polio Day—a reminder of how powerful we are when we act together.

Thanks to a global effort, we’ve reduced polio by 99.9% since 1988. The finish line is in sight, but we need continued support, awareness, and action to end it for good.

On this day, honor the power of global cooperation:
âś… Learn more about the fight against polio
✅ Share the story—many still don’t know polio exists
âś… Support global health and vaccination efforts

Together, we can make history—and a healthier future.

It started in 1979, when Rotarians in the Philippines decided to eradicate polio in their country. By 1984, they succeeded. Rotarians worldwide took notice. From there, Rotary took on the challenge of eliminating it worldwide. EndPolioNow.org https://www.facebook.com/reel/28790875050567576
