Friends of the Mount Prospect Public Library The Friends is a 501(c)3 organization that raises funds to support the Mount Prospect Public Library

Since 1982 the Friends of the Library has raised over one million dollars to support the Mount Prospect Public Library. The Friends fundraising efforts provide the Library with equipment, program funding, services, and other materials that it might not otherwise be able to purchase. The mission of the Friends is to:

Enhance the library experience by financially supporting Mount Prospect Public Li

brary initiatives and programs

Promote community spirit by building a fun and dedicated volunteer and membership group

Improve literacy within the community and the underserved

Watch, wonder, and be inspired as you follow a miniature electric LEGO train through various creative scenes, all hand-built by Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club members and on display 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 16.

The Friends offers books and other items for purchase on an ongoing basis through our self-service bookshelves and trolleys. Shop adult and children's books, DVDs, puzzles, and books in Polish. Find these on the first floor of the Library in the meeting room hallway, near the lobby.

Just one more day left for the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale. We are open today, Sunday, April 19, from 11 am to 4 pm. We still have great deals on books, movies, music, games, and more for as little as 25¢.

Check out special sections that celebrates America 250, the anniversary of the Nation's founding. We have titles on the revolution, the country's founders, its history, and leaders. Shop these titles in both the adult and children's sections in the Better Books Room in Meeting Room A.*
