Adopt-A-Pet, Inc. Mt. Prospect, IL Adopt-A-Pet is a "shelter without walls" - we do not own a shelter facility. Animals remain with us for as long as it takes to find their permanent family.

Adopt-A-Pet is an all volunteer not-for-profit animal shelter and adoption agency dedicated to saving the lives of lost, abandoned or otherwise homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Our animals fostered in volunteer foster homes or Wilmette Pet Center (also loving) until they are adopted by their new families. We vet the dogs and cats, provide ongoing medical care if necessary and provide training and supplies to foster homes if necessary. Foster homes are the life blood of our group - the more we have the more we can save. There are many other capacities in which to volunteer as well, such as: phone screener, adoption counselor, transport, fund-raising, photography, website help to name a few.
