Our little Comet hit the poolside jackpot with his new mom, Karen, a repeat AAP adopter! His family loves him and they're over the moon with this little guy! We're so happy for them!!!

PUPDATE: ADOPTED!!!
Adoption Needed! Hey Y'all! Look at me! My name is Comet and I really want to find my permanent family! I'm an AAMB (All American Mixed Breed). Unfortunately, I don't have my birth certificate but the vet and informed others estimate me to be 5 years old give or take a year.
I'm a small dog (18 lb) with a big heart full of love, a bit on the passive side, and I've mastered all of the basic commands and a few tricks. I live for 3 things: A lap, pets and walks. I sleep in bed with my foster mom (you be the judge if this is a + or - ), and I'm masterful at burrowing under the covers (and also very cute).
I'm potty trained and when I meet other dogs on a walk, I'm pretty chill; just need to sniff a bit and move on. However, I do like to play chase with another dog on play dates.

THIS on the window of Wilmette Pet Center (which has been closed for several months). A sweet, anonymous message to Dave who passed away in October after his mighty struggle with ALS. Dave touched so many lives, so to anyone who shopped there, adopted their pet there, knew Dave - if you don't live too far, can you make a quick sign in the memory of this lovely man and add to this expression of gratitude? IT IS WITH OUR DEEPEST SADNESS to announce that Dave Cozzolino, owner of Wilmette Pet Center until its closing last year, and adoption partner with Adopt-A-Pet for many many years, passed away peacefully after a brave battle with ALS, surrounded by friends and family, all of our love and prayers, and lots of laughs and memories. We have lost a great friend, mentor, and animal lover who made all of our lives more rich.
We're better for having known him. And no doubt, thousands of pets were given second chances at life and loving homes because of his outsized generosity, dedication, sacrifices and big heart.
He requested no funeral services; instead, a Celebration of Life party will be held.
We will post the details as soon as we know them.
