Meet Rebecca Lobsinger. Rebecca is the Contact Center Leader at Members First Credit Union and has been a dedicated member of the United Way board since 2013 and currently serves as Board Chair.
𝗤: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙮?
𝗔: The mission of United Way resonates deeply with me because it aligns closely with the mission and vision of my organization—both centered on the belief in People Helping People. I have always had a genuine passion for supporting others, and United Way’s unwavering commitment to strengthening communities reflects that same dedication. The organization plays a vital role as a trusted resource that people can rely on for support, education, and guidance during challenging times.
So often, individuals simply need someone to care, to pause, and to offer the simplest act of help or direction. United Way embodies that spirit. It serves as a central hub where people can turn when they are unsure where else to go—connecting them to the right services, removing barriers, and ensuring they do not face life’s challenges alone.
United Way’s work is not only impactful, but transformative. It brings people together, unites resources, and creates opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. Being connected to an organization with such meaningful purpose is inspiring and reinforces my desire to contribute to a mission that truly uplifts the community.
𝗤: 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙮, 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮?
𝗔: Over the years, I have been deeply committed to serving my community through a variety of volunteer roles. My involvement has included serving on local boards and supporting my children’s school and extracurricular programs. Some of the organizations I have contributed to include the SHA Athletic Association, where I assisted with sports activities; serving as a 4‑H leader for the White Pine 4‑H Club; and coaching teams within the Farm and National Baseball Leagues.
Beyond youth programs, I also volunteer regularly through my employer, participating in activities that support individuals and families across the region. This includes serving at soup kitchens and food pantries, assisting at Clothing INC, supporting the Isabella County Restoration House (ICRH), and helping with park clean‑up efforts and yard work for elderly community members.
These experiences have strengthened my belief in the importance of service, compassion, and consistent community engagement. They have also given me a firsthand understanding of the wide range of needs that exist within our community—and the meaningful impact that even small acts of support can have.
𝗤: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠?
𝗔: I love spending time with my family, and much of my life outside of work is centered around creating experiences and memories with them. I am an outdoor enthusiast at heart—I love hunting, hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, and exploring new places. Being outside gives me a sense of balance, adventure, and connection, and it’s something my husband and I love to do together, and we include the kids as much as we can. We also love to travel and experience different cultures and countries. Exploring new places broadens our perspective and gives us a deeper appreciation for the world and the people in it. We love to discover new places and engage with and learn from the locals.
