Trees NOW Isabella

Trees NOW Isabella Trees NOW operates as a Project Partner of the United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties working to

As climate change worsens, planting trees provides an effective method to combat the warming climate by drawing carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and reducing heating and cooling needs. Trees also improve water and soil quality, reduce storm runoff, and improve mental health, making tree planting a benefit for all. Celebrating Arbor Day weekend with Mr. Epple's and Mr. Greaves' 8th grade science classes who helped us plant 20 trees on the Mt. Pleasant Middle School grounds.

Thank you to Michigan DNR's Community & Urban Forestry Grant Program for funding this project. And congratulations to Zen, MPMS student, who won a $100 gift certificate toward a tree of his choice from Alwood Nursery!

"If it were possible for every person to own a tree and to care for it, the good results would be beyond estimation." - Liberty Hyde Bailey, from The Holy Earth (1915)

Lastly, thank you to the Mount Pleasant Area Community Foundation for granting us funds to purchase the trees.
