Community Human Services

Community Human Services Hope. Help. Here. Helping Monterey County residents when they need it most with homeless, mental health, and substance use programs.

Each year, Community Human Services helps over 3000 people in Monterey County address substance abuse and mental health issues. Our programs are designed to serve low and moderate income families who are uninsured or otherwise unable to afford care. Our funding comes from Medi-Cal, government contracts, private grants and donations and client fees. Please visit us at www.chservices.org.

Today, on Overdose Awareness Day, we remember every life lost to overdose—and hold close the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that loss.

Each person was more than a statistic. They were someone’s child, parent, sibling, partner, friend, or neighbor. They had a story, people who loved them, and a life that mattered.

We also stand with those who are struggling and those walking the path of recovery. Compassion saves lives. Treatment works. Recovery is possible.

Today and every day, may we remember without stigma, support without judgment, and continue working toward a community where everyone has the opportunity to heal.

💜 You are loved. You matter. You are not alone.
