Community Human Services Hope. Help. Here. Helping Monterey County residents when they need it most with homeless, mental health, and substance use programs.

Each year, Community Human Services helps over 3000 people in Monterey County address substance abuse and mental health issues. Our programs are designed to serve low and moderate income families who are uninsured or otherwise unable to afford care. Our funding comes from Medi-Cal, government contracts, private grants and donations and client fees. Please visit us at www.chservices.org.

We're asking for a small favor from our CHS community. ๐Ÿ’™

For more than 55 years, Community Human Services has been here for Monterey County residents facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and homelessness. Every day, we're inspired by the resilience of our clients and the compassion of the community that supports them.

If CHS has made a difference in our community, we'd be honored if you would nominate us in the Nonprofit category for the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Business Excellence Awards.

Nominations are open through June 5, and every vote helps shine a light on the importance of mental health, substance use, and homeless services in Monterey County.

Thank you for being part of our story and helping us continue ours. ๐Ÿ’™

Strong communities are built when people are engaged, informed, and connected. This Election Day, we encourage everyone who is eligible to make their voice heard by participating in the democratic process.

At Community Human Services, we believe healthy communities thrive when people have access to resources, support, and opportunities to be involved in shaping the future.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to thank everyone who helped start conversations, share resources, and remind others that mental health matters.

While May may be ending, the importance of mental health doesn't end with a calendar month. Every day, people in our community are navigating challenges that aren't always visibleโ€”and every day, support, compassion, and connection can make a difference.

At Community Human Services, we're proud to provide mental health services that help Monterey County residents find hope, healing, and stability. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available.

๐Ÿ’š Mental health matters every month.
๐Ÿ’š Asking for help is a sign of strength.
๐Ÿ’š You are not alone.

We're taking a break from Mental Health Month today to congratulate ARTURO (Support Counselor 1 at Casa de Noche Buena) on his graduation from UC BERKELEY! He graduated with a double Bachelor's in Psychology and Social Welfare.

He's the first in his family to graduate and shared that "this is a big achievement for me because coming from a family of hard-working immigrants where education isn't valued as much as hard labor is, I still decided to pursue education annd got accepted in the number 1 public university in the US."

We're so proud of you, Arturo, and lucky to have you as part of the CHS team!

Some days, strength looks like getting out of bed.
Some days, it looks like asking for help.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want our community to know that struggling does not make you weak โ€” it makes you human. And no matter where someone is in their journey, support matters.

At Community Human Services, we provide mental health, substance use, and homeless services across Monterey County because care should meet people where they are โ€” without judgment.

If you or someone you love is having a hard time, you are not alone. ๐Ÿ’š
