Community Human Services

Community Human Services Hope. Help. Here. Helping Monterey County residents when they need it most with homeless, mental health, and substance use programs.

Each year, Community Human Services helps over 3000 people in Monterey County address substance abuse and mental health issues. Our programs are designed to serve low and moderate income families who are uninsured or otherwise unable to afford care. Our funding comes from Medi-Cal, government contracts, private grants and donations and client fees. Please visit us at www.chservices.org.

CHS's Adolescent Drug Treatment Program provides a safe, supportive space where teens can address substance use challenges, build healthy coping skills, strengthen family relationships, and work toward a brighter future.

Our team meets youth where they are, helping them navigate challenges, celebrate progress, and discover their own resilience along the way.

Healing is possible. Hope is real. And no young person has to face recovery alone.

Recovery doesn't happen alone.

At Community Human Services' Genesis House, men and women receive residential treatment and support as they work toward recovery from substance use disorders. Through counseling, peer support, life skills development, and a safe, structured environment, participants have the opportunity to build a foundation for lasting change.

Every recovery journey is unique, but healing becomes possible when people have the support they need to take the next step forward.

Together, we can build a community where everyone has the support they need to heal, grow, and thrive.

Today, we're shining a light on the power of a warm meal, a safe bed, and a caring community. 💙

For many women experiencing homelessness, Casa de Noche Buena is more than emergency shelter—it's a place to rest, regroup, and begin planning for what's next.

Every night, our team works to create a welcoming space where women and children can access support, connect with resources, and take steps toward stability and permanent housing.

Because everyone deserves a safe place to sleep and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
