Games of power

Throughout history, rulers have used sport as a stage to present themselves and their ideals in a certain light. The practice began in Roman amphitheatres and continues to this day. Even in Switzerland.

Not a surprise!

Switzerland was ranked the best country in the world by US News & World Report. See which factors earned it the top spot.

Yesterday SAHS members Mary Brunisholz, Ambassador Martin Dahinden, Jonah Schaller and Tom Marabello led a virtual orientation on Switzerland for graduate and doctoral students in the Graduate School of Education & Psychology at Pepperdine University going to Switzerland in a few weeks for a study tour. This was our second year doing this in what has become a partnership. Thank you to everyone for your time, and sharing your knowledge and love for Switzerland with the students and professors, and wishing them an enjoyable trip!

🧀🇨🇭 Swiss 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗦𝗘 — A Taste of Switzerland 🇨🇭🧀

From the heart of the Swiss Alps comes one of the world’s most iconic cheeses. Known for its rich creamy texture, nutty flavor, and signature holes, Swiss cheese is more than just food — it’s a tradition passed down through generations. ✨

Made with fresh mountain milk and aged to perfection, every bite carries the authentic taste of Switzerland’s beautiful countryside. Whether melted in fondue, layered in sandwiches, or enjoyed on its own, Swiss cheese brings warmth and flavor to every meal. 🏔️🧀

A true symbol of Swiss culture and craftsmanship! ❤️🇨🇭

We are finalizing our centennial exhibit traveling banners and will have a "soft launch" at the San Diego County Swiss Club's Schwingfest on June 20.

2027 will be a busy year with the banners going to 12 different locations across the U.S.!

We have a few Swiss Clubs that are going to do a one day reception in 2026 with them, and we are open to including others. So far, the banners will make an appearance in Atlanta on August 2nd at the Swiss American Society of Atlanta's Swiss National Day, and at a Raclette in Brookline, Massachusetts hosted by the Swiss Society of Boston on September 12th.

If your organization or club is interested in having the banners for a day or weekend, send an email to: [email protected].
