Chartered in 1961, we are a fun-loving group of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. Guests are always welcome!

We meet on Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. at the Missoula Country Club,
3850 Old US Hwy 93 South. **Helping Kids Thrive**

Sentinel Kiwanis members have fun while working together to support kids in our community and throughout the world. Sentinel Kiwanis has been serving the Missoula community for over 50 years. Most of our efforts support local youth programs and activities. We are involved in some statewide and international efforts. We provide for these worthwhile organizations through volunteer service and financial donations. Our service projects include working with Kiwanis programs at high schools and middle schools and community-based projects. We raise funds primarily by selling apples and pears in the fall, parking cars during concerts at the Kettlehouse Amphitheater and during the County Fair. Additionally, we operate a brat stand during Brew Fest. Our members are involved in these efforts. Membership in Sentinel Kiwanis is enjoyable and fulfilling. Like any organization, members get out of the club as much as they're willing to contribute.

This week we welcome Stoney Samsoe, Executive Director and co-founder of Open AIR.

🎨 Open AIR is a Montana nonprofit that brings artists into meaningful relationship with communities, landscapes, and organizations across the state. Since helping launch Open AIR in 2019, Stoney has grown the organization into a network of place-based artist residencies and public programs that connect creativity with science, history, conservation, and community life.

👩🏻‍🎨 Stoney is also an artist herself, with an MFA from Illinois State University and a BA from the University of Montana - GO GRIZ!

🥫 Speaking of the GRIZ, it’s time for the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center’s CAN THE CATS food drive. Bring your donations of canned food for this spirited statewide competition which brought in a record-breaking 1,091,755 pounds in combined food and monetary donations in 2025!

Guests are welcome at our meetings every Thursday at the Missoula Country Club starting at 7:30 am. There’s no better way to start your day than with a dose of Kiwanis style camaraderie and community service benefiting children in our community! ☕️

👻 A Little History, a Few Ghosts, and Some Kiwanis Fun! 🎃

We were so excited to welcome back Dr. Sophia Etier, historian, to our Sentinel Kiwanis meeting this morning!

Sophia treated us to some fascinating (and a little spooky!) ghost stories and history from right here in Western Montana. Perfect timing with Halloween just around the corner! 👻

Of course, we also enjoyed our usual breakfast, laughs, and fun fines! Always a great way to start a Thursday morning with this crew! 💙

Cheers to a New Kiwanis Year! 🔔

What a great month to kick off our new Kiwanis year with our incoming President, Bill Hughes, leading the way! We gathered this morning for our 4th meeting of the new year. We're excited to see what Bill has in store for us! We promise to behave ourselves, Bill… well, at least for the first few meetings! 😂

Our annual administrative meeting gave us a chance to look back at all the wonderful things we accomplished this past year, review Kiwanis International's goals, and share our own club's plans and goals for the year ahead!

Here's to another fantastic year of friendship, laughter, giving back, and making a difference in our community!

Vice President Mackenna Van Soest Hubbard and her right hand man, President Bill Hughes, guided a dandy bunch of Sentinel Kiwanians through the annual sorting o’ the fruit. Our fruit sale raises thousands of dollars to support kids in Missoula. Good stuff.

Many thanks to the Montana Food Bank Network - MFBN for allowing us to use their former location tonight.

Mike McCue and Craig Stahlberg are celebrating 30 years with Sentinel Kiwanis!

Back in 1996, Dolly the sheep was making cloning history, the Macarena was taking over dance floors, and the internet was still figuring itself out. 🐑

Thirty years later, Dolly is a legend, the Macarena can still clear a dance floor (or fill one!), and Mike and Craig are still showing up and making a difference through Kiwanis!

Here's to three decades of friendship, service, laughter, and community impact. We're so glad you're part of the Sentinel Kiwanis family! 🪇

🎤This week, Sentinel Kiwanis welcomes Josh Plum with MOR4Kids.

Founded in 2011, MOR4Kids helps Missoula County students facing food insecurity, lacking school supplies, or needing appropriate clothing. Today, with more children experiencing homelessness and other challenges, this mission is more important than ever. ❤️

Sentinel Kiwanis and MOR4Kids share a common mission: helping children thrive and building a stronger future for our community. We're excited to learn more about the important work MOR4Kids is doing right here in Missoula! ⚡️

In 2016, as a tribute to our 55th anniversary, Sentinel Kiwanis decided to honor one of our charter members by creating the Bob Small Award.

This award, for the Sentinel Kiwanian of the Year, is presented annually at our Installation Banquet in October to a deserving member nominated by his or her peers, who personifies the attributes that defined Bob and his contributions to our club and community.

The Bob Small Award comes with a $500 contribution from Sentinel Kiwanis for the recipient to gift to an entity of their choosing.

Congratulations to this year’s winner, Mackenna Van Soest Hubbard, and many thanks to Brent and Maddie Small for a touching tribute to our beloved friend and colleague, the late, great Bob Small.
