We are proud to spotlight Gregório Oliveira's (The University of Southern Mississippi ) lecture recital, Islands of Sound: Exploring Almeida Prado’s Ilhas, at the CMS 2026 National Conference!

Join Gregório for an exploration of the music of Almeida Prado, a significant yet underrepresented figure in twentieth-century Brazilian concert music. This lecture recital examines how Prado uses post-tonal techniques to create complex sonic landscapes through the interplay of pitch, resonance, harmonic series, texture, and timbre.
