Saddleback Marathon 11/07/26

Team,

This is the last race of the year we will be doing. Once again I’m calling on you for volunteer support. The last race was a huge success thanks to everyone involved.

We need HAM volunteers for 5 aid stations and 1 more rover as well as Net Control. Longest shift is 6:00am to 5:00pm. Start/Finish is at the Black Star Canyon gate.

If you would like to help out let me know asap and I will start putting assignments together.

Team,

That’s No Moon race is coming up on 10/10/26 I’m once again looking for Ham volunteers to help out with radio support at aid stations and rovers. Unfortunately I will not be able to be at the event in person but will be monitoring from home. I’m getting a shoulder replacement on 9/23 and won’t be cleared to drive by the event.

The run will be held in Blackstar canyon. If you want a chance to take your 4x4 into generally closed areas of Santiago this is a great opportunity.

If you’re interested in helping out please let me know and I will start putting assignments together.

Thanks for your support,

Dan WRUE217 / N6RPR

Harding Hustle was a great success thank to all of the SOARA and MCRC members who came out to help!

SOARA has been asked again to provide radio support for the Harding Hustle trail run. We are in need of radio operators to man aid stations. Off road capable vehicles needed to get to aid stations and we especially need net control operators. Net control stations will be fully set up no equipment needed. We can also use members without a capable vehicle to ride along with others.

The Harding Hustle offers a unique adventure through Orange County's Santa Ana Mountains. Featuring 50K, 30K, and 15K distances, these challenging yet rewarding courses take place on the Harding Truck Trail, offering breathtaking views, steep climbs, and exhilarating descents.
