You’re invited! It’s our AGM in a few weeks, and it’s open to everyone - whether you’re a veteran volunteer or you’ve never been to a convention before, everyone is welcome to our AGM. We’ll be at the CCD in Dublin and online on the 13th-14th June having lots of fun discussions, workshops and socials and we’d love to see you there!

Our Worldcon bid is run entirely by volunteers, other fans just like you! We have a few roles we are currently recruiting for including for various teams, with the role descriptions below. If you are interested, or want to join the team but none of these are up your street you can join the volunteer team at https://dublin2029.ie/

🔹 Blog Writer: Write regular blog posts for our website, either independently or as a team! Skills include experience writing, creative thinking, being organised and able to work within deadlines. Time commitment of 2-3hrs/week.

🔹 Blog Editor: Work with our blog writers to come up with creative content for the blog, and ensure that they are edited and formatted for going up on our website. Skills include experience at writing, editing, photo editing, graphic creation and use of Word Press. Time commitment of 2-3hrs/week.

🔹 Copy Writer: Join the social media time writing text posts from a basic outline/description, and writing image descriptions. We’re looking for someone who enjoys writing and connecting with fans, and is familiar with Bluesky, Instagram, and/or Facebook. Time commitment of 1-2hrs/week

🔹 Discord Moderator: Our moderators monitor the chat, keep things on-topic, step in if things get heated, and escalate to our admins. We’re looking for who has experience with Discord and moderating online spaces, and can keep a level head in discussions.

🔹 Discord Admin: Our admins make any tech changes, do some light moderation, and are a point of contact for our moderators, helping with queries and escalation. Skills include experience in configuring Discord servers, online moderation, and Worldcon organisational structure.

🔹 Scribe: Someone with experience taking meeting notes, and comfortable working in shared online documents. Other skills include an ability to listen for key points and summarise discussions, and strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Time commitment of 2-3hrs/month.
