ABEP + Arise Saturday Morning Connect!

Last Saturday, ABEP + Arise stopped by LC Coffee Lounge to sit down with business owner LaCresha Carothers and learned more about her business, her entrepreneurial journey, and the community she serves.

Saturday Morning Connect is about getting the word out about Arise + ABEP while also getting out into the community, building relationships, and learning more about the people and businesses we serve. It’s an opportunity to listen, connect, and better understand how we can support the communities we’re a part of.

LC Coffee Lounge is also more than a place to grab a great cup of coffee—it hosts special events that bring people together.

🌱☕ Coming up: Coffee & Plants, hosted by Roots & Bloom
📅 Saturday, September 26
⏰ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

If you're in the area, stop by, grab some coffee, check out the plants, and support local businesses!

Thank you, LaCresha, for welcoming us and sharing your story.

We’re getting out of the office and into the community! ☕

This Saturday, Arise Community Credit Union and ABEP are hanging out at LC Coffee Lounge, and we want YOU to come hang out with us!

Why? Because y’all are who matter most. We want to meet you, hear what’s on your mind, answer questions, laugh a little, and have some real conversation—no presentations, no agenda, and definitely no pressure.

And while we’re connecting, we get to show some love to LC Coffee Lounge, a new local business in Brooklyn Center, MN! Come check out the space, grab something good, and help us welcome them to the community.

Good coffee.
Real conversation.
Community connections.

That’s it. That’s the Saturday morning.

📅 Saturday, September 19 | 11 a.m.–Noon

Almost everyone has a bank account already—and that's great. We want you to keep it.

We're asking you to become a member of Arise Community Credit Union, too.

Why? Because with Arise, you're more than an account holder. You're a member. You have a voice, you help shape the products and services we offer, and you become part of a financial institution built to serve and stay connected to our community.

And it only takes $10 to get started.

Ready to become a member? Contact us today and we'll help you get started.

, ABEP and Arise Community Credit Union joined the community at Open Streets West Broadway!

Events like Open Streets give us an opportunity to meet people where they are, build relationships, and make sure our community knows about the financial resources and opportunities available to them.

We also love when our board and task force members show up in support! A special thank you to Ben Hering, Arise CCU Supervisory Committee Member and ABEP Board Secretary, and Trent Bowman, ABEP Task Force Member, for stopping by and supporting us in the community.

We enjoyed the conversations, connections, and energy along West Broadway!

Want to learn more? Connect with ABEP and Arise to see how we can support your financial journey.

Arise Community Credit Union was proud to show up for local entrepreneurs at the Rise to Wealth & Success Initiative Graduation and Pitch Showcase, presented by Kimberly Holifield, owner and founder of Glamlife Kim!

After eight weeks of building their businesses through training in branding, systems, financial foundations, funding readiness, strategic relationships, and growth, participating entrepreneurs took the stage to pitch their businesses and share what they need to move forward.

Arise Community Credit Union Vice President of Operations and Branch Manager Benson B. Webb Jr. joined the event as a community resource partner, sharing how Arise can serve and support business owners while connecting with entrepreneurs as they take their next steps.

Congratulations to the Rise to Wealth & Success graduates, and thank you to Kimberly Holifield for bringing together entrepreneurs and community resources to support their continued growth!

Help Shape What’s Next!

We’re building Arise with you, not just for you.

That means we NEED your input.

Your feedback helps us understand what we’re doing well, where we may be missing the mark, and what our members need from their credit union moving forward.

Our member survey is coming soon. When it arrives, tell us your thoughts. We’re here to listen.

What could one Saturday morning connection lead to?

Join the Association for Black Economic Power (ABEP) and Arise Community Credit Union for Saturday Morning Connect: Real People. Real Conversations.

Come meet people, make connections, ask questions, learn about resources available in the community, and get to know the people behind ABEP and Arise. You never know who you’ll meet, what you’ll learn, or what opportunity might come from simply showing up and starting a conversation.

This month, we’re also excited to bring Saturday Morning Connect to LC Coffee Lounge, a newly opened Brooklyn Center business that just opened its doors on August 11! Come check out the new space, support a local business, take a few pictures, and connect with ABEP and Arise staff and others in the community while you’re there.

Saturday, September 19 | 11 a.m.–Noon
LC Coffee Lounge
6826 N Humboldt Ave., Brooklyn Center, MN 55430

No agenda to sit through. No presentation. No pressure to sign up for anything.

Just show up, connect, ask questions, and see where the conversation takes you.
