MN POC Pride Festival Empowering LGBTQ+ people of color in Minnesota through celebration, advocacy, and community-building

The Minnesota People of Color LGBTQ Pride’s goal is to create social change in the Twin Cities area. We produce a yearly, all-inclusive people of color LGBTQ+ pride festival weekend in late August. The festivities offered are to engage and recognize the people of color contributions and celebrate with PRIDE, our many ethnic diversities in the Twin Cities LGBTQ communities.

🍂 FRIENDSGIVING REGISTRATION HERE’S HOW IT WILL WORK! 🧡

We’re excited to bring our community together for MNPOC Pride Friendsgiving a space to share a meal, connect, laugh, and spend time with community during the holiday season.

Because **space is limited**, registration will include a **$5 commitment fee**.

Why the $5?

In the past, we’ve learned that when an event is completely free, people may reserve a spot and then not attend. With limited seating, that can mean someone who truly wanted or needed a place to spend the holiday misses out.

The $5 helps us make sure reservations are made with the intention of attending and that we can plan food and seating as accurately as possible.

And your $5 is going right back into the event!**

During Friendsgiving, we’ll have a **surprise group activity**, and the registration fees collected will help cover that special experience for everyone attending.

Our goal isn’t to make money from registration. It’s to make sure that when we say a seat is reserved for you, **that seat is truly yours**.

Good food.
Community.
Connection.

A place to belong during the holiday season.

Space is limited, so once registration opens, we encourage you to reserve your seat early!

Black Pride honors the elders who created space for us when few spaces existed. Their courage, sacrifice, and leadership built the foundation we stand on today. Celebrating them ensures their stories are remembered and their legacy continues through the next generation.

RAINBOW ROOTS YOUTH PROGRAM

Learning. Growing. Building the next generation of leaders.
Rainbow Roots is more than a youth program. It’s a space where young people can come together, learn, build confidence, develop real-world skills, and have conversations about issues that directly impact their lives and communities.

Our sessions include topics such as opioid awareness and prevention, Narcan education, HIV prevention, mental wellness, to***co cessation, workforce readiness, leadership development, and community engagement.

Rainbow Roots serves young people ages 14–24, with programming designed specifically for youth and young adults.
Participants also have opportunities for paid stipends, internships, community outreach, leadership experience, and hands-on learning.

This is what Rainbow Roots looks like in action!
We’re building knowledge today so our young people can become the leaders of tomorrow.

WOW! OUR VERY FIRST EVENT FLYER! FORMED AND PLANNED IN 1998- 1999, DELIVERED IN 2000!

When we started this movement in 1998, the community was EXCITED.

People showed up. People supported one another. We celebrated together, organized together, laughed together, and created spaces where we could be ourselves.

Those were GOOD TIMES.

Black Pride was more than an event. It was COMMUNITY. It was FAMILY. It was a MOVEMENT built by people who understood that if we wanted a space for us, we had to come together and create it.

Now it’s time to bring that energy back.

Show up again. Get involved again. Bring the next generation with you. Support our Black LGBTQ+ organizations, events, businesses, artists, and leaders.

The movement started with community, and community is what will keep it going.

We did it before. Let’s bring it back.
