LumberStash

LumberStash We save lumber from the landfill out of respect for the forest. Every day, useful lumber is tossed in construction and renovation dumpsters.

There’s a ridiculous amount of opportunity for this in every city in the USA, we are based in Minneapolis www.LumberStash.com Then it waits to be trucked to the landfill. The contractors don't have time or space to deal with it. There are also many piles of leftover lumber taking up space in basements and garages. Meanwhile, unknowingly, people who need the same type of lumber drive past it to pur

chase new lumber at the big box stores. This is a big problem and a huge side gig opportunity.

LumberStash is a growing network of (backyard/garage) salvaged lumber stores that are run by good people. Most of the inventory would be in the landfill if we didn't save it. Using existing space in our yard / garage and basic tools we have almost no overheard costs. This allows us to sell salvaged lumber (as a side gig) at a very good price while earning a nice wage.

We also make products. The growing list of wooden products are made by the same network of people. These products are made from the same locally salvaged lumber that we sell. We aim to make these products superior to similar priced options that are made from new lumber and typically shipped across the ocean

seriously though you should be careful with the lead stuff. We just had a really fun tour and learned that lead the size of a grain of rice can kill a Bald Eagle. They usually get it from eating a dead fish that was killed by a fisherman who was using lead sinkers. Or from eating off the carcass of an animal that was killed with lead bullets. “bald” is the old English word for white head or white patch… Remember when the insecticide DDT almost killed all the bald eagles?

Don’t worry, I don’t use THC on any job sites, that would be a bad idea.. A sunny Saturday afternoon when some Creeping Charlie has infiltrated the Native Strawberries, that’s a delightful idea. Native Strawberries are tenacious in the wild. You’ll see them in difficult growing situations, just a few here and there. But in your yard, as a cover crop instead of / in addition to boring old mulch, water them a bit if it’s dry and they will absolutely thrive. You probably know that it’s best to pull weeds after a rain or just water a little bit first to make it easier to pull the roots. That water will also help the strawberries spread to get thick and keep Charlie out. These berries are smaller, but approximately 594.97% more flavorful than a strawberry from the grocery store. PLUS- the cute little white flowers have been around as long as the birds and bees so I’m pretty sure they appreciate them. Native Strawberries in your yard 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

We spoke to several commercial HVAC companies around town and learned that most of the rooftop units on this building were at the end or beyond their expected useful life... One of them was only three years old.. Getting a permit to close the street and hiring a crane is expensive, it didn’t make sense. We are happy and proud to have Nick and Zach on the team. Freon was captured from all the units for reuse. The older units were deconstructed so many parts could be reused and others recycled. That nice new rooftop unit will live on.

This job has literally become better than any job I have ever imagined. Flexible, fulfilling, therapeutic.. it makes you feel proud. Good news for you, there’s an incredible amount of opportunity for this. Thanks to for getting us involved on another one of his projects. PS we’ve got a bunch of old doors like the one in these photos. A lot of them have nice glass k***s. Would love to find someone who wants a deal on a pile of them (with or without frames).. The fancy k***s are really easy to sell, but we like to keep the k**b with the door to help the door stay out of the landfill.
