Access to fresh food shouldn't depend on what's in your wallet. This week we heard from a neighbor who called it a privilege to support a garden that feeds people whether they can pay or not. That belief is behind everything we do, and it's possible because of a community that shows up as customers, volunteers, and donors. Thank you for being part of it.

Happy World Food Day!

October is Tackling Hunger Month, and today is World Food Day, so it feels like the right time for a recipe that's simple, filling, and made with everyday ingredients. Spinach Parmesan Pasta brings greens into a comforting dish that's easy to make for a whole family.

Our mission is to help everyone have access to healthy food, and we love sharing recipes that make it easier to put nutritious meals on the table.

Are you interested in getting consistent, convenient produce for the remainder of October? Sign up for our free CSA Farmshare!

We have been blessed in abundance of harvest this fall season and hoping to package up a quality selection of squash, onions, garlic and more for pickup, just for you! Produce will be available to those who sign up until the fall harvest is gone so don't delay :)

Here's how it works:
- Go to the online store on our website and scroll down to October Scholarship Farm Share: https://onlinestore.tendfarm.com/phoenix-community-farm-33190
- Add the FREE produce bag to your cart and checkout. It may still ask for card information, but you should *not* be charged
- Daytime pickup at either Windover High or Midland Reformed Church (located on N Saginaw)

This program will run for just a few weeks (pickups for October 21, 28, and Nov 4) as we send out the abundance from the fall harvest. There's a chance we will continue this in November if we still have produce or if we have excess from our greenhouse, so stay tuned for more!

And as usual, our stands are stocked and open and ready to send produce to good homes :) 220 Jefferson and 919 Smith road open Monday & Thursday 10am - 8pm and Tuesday 6pm - 8pm

October is Tackling Hunger Month, and this comment card says it simply: we help fill the gaps. Here in Midland County, 1 out of every 3 households is struggling to meet basic needs. Rising grocery costs, tight budgets, and unpredictable weeks all leave gaps, and fresh, nutritious food is often the first thing to go. Our mission is to Grow. Healthy. Together. We grow fresh food and pair it with education to tackle the hunger crisis in our community. If you'd like to help us keep filling gaps, consider donating or volunteering today!

The produce stand at 919 Smith Road is open and bursting with produce. The stand will be open today (Thursday 10-8) and a bonus day on Friday. Fall harvests have been great and we have now donated over 30,000 pounds of produce from our 1.5 acres at Windover to meet the basic need for nutritious food and education to empower our community. We are so grateful to every volunteer and every donor who made this possible.

Volunteers from Horizon Bank recently spent a day at Phoenix Community Farm, and they got a lot done. The team harvested just over 4,000 lbs of squash and worked through all of our winter carrots.

Days like this show what a group of willing hands can do, and it helps get more fresh, healthy food to our neighbors. Thank you to everyone from Horizon Bank for the time and energy you gave the farm. If your workplace or group is interested in volunteering, we'd love to host you!

This week was Neighboring Week in Midland, a chance to reflect on what it means to be a neighbor. For us, it starts with the produce stands and the garden people watch grow as they pass by. Two families told us how much they love the fresh, local veggies, and we love that we get to see the neighbors we're growing for, week after week. Our mission is built on neighbors feeding neighbors, and it's a joy to hear from the families who make this place part of their neighborhood.
