There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income. Newport Mental Health is a 501(c)3, charitable nonprofit and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to those who live, work, and study in Newport County. No one is denied access due to an inability to pay. NMH offers programs and services for children and adults; immediate access to care is available by calling 401-846-1213.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that support is available. You can reach us 24/7 on our helpline, (401) 846-1213 option 1.

Outreach is also an important component of our work as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Mobile response is available in a behavioral health crisis, but outreach teams are also visible in the community, providing support and preventative services for behavioral health and housing needs.

You may have seen our Rhode Island Outreach (RIO) teams in their white vans. We also have a Street Outreach Team to assist with housing, and NMH is a Regional Access Point (RAP) for emergency shelter and housing placement in Rhode Island.
