The Peter D. Connerton Jr. Memorial Fund recently helped sponsor the Niskayuna, New York Little League Nisky Warriors Travel Team to take part in the Cal Ripken experience being held in Aberdeen, Maryland. It was a five-game tournament played on replica MLB turf. Wesley McHenry, son of Pete McHenry one of Pete’s best friends, thanks the Memorial Fund for its donation which helped enable the team to take part. At the end of the video the entire team pays tribute & thanks #44 (Pete’s # on most of his sports jerseys). The Board of Directors of the Peter D. Connerton Memorial Fund want to thank the Nisky Warriors for reaching out to us and expressing their appreciation in the manner that they did. GO NISKY WARRIORS!!!!!!!!!

Today members of Peter D. Connerton Jr. Memorial Fund Board of Directors (BOD) visited the Boys & Girls Club of Newport County on Church Street. Chief Executive Officer Kelley Coen gave BOD members, Peter D. Connerton Sr. & Sheila (Connerton) Coleman, a tour of the facility which is currently under renovation. The work is expected to be completed in 4 to 5 months with an anticipated full reopening in January of 2027. The remodeled facility will provide more services and areas for expanded programs, as well as providing needed upgrades to make the facility even more accessible.
In addition to the site visit itself the BOD members were there to present a check to the Boys & Girls Club which will enable four children, who might not otherwise be able, to attend a full week of Summer Camp at Camp Grosvenor in Saunderstown, RI. The BODs would like to thank the Community Members for their ongoing support which has enabled the charity to make this and many other donations to give back to the Island Community in Pete’s memory. For this ability we are truly thankful.

On the evening of Thursday, June 10, 2026, Middletown High School (MHS) held its annual awards ceremony for graduating Seniors. In attendance, as scholarship presenters, from the Peter D. Connerton Jr. Memorial Fund were Peter Sr. & Mary-Beth Connerton, as well as Eric Malkowski.

Due to the incredible generosity of the community in supporting Pete’s Memorial Fund, we were able to provide scholarships to seven graduating MHS Seniors. We wish all of you the best in the next step in your education and in your lives beyond!!!!!!

Thank you again to everyone who has supported and continues to back Pete’s Memorial Fund. Your generosity allows the foundation to make a meaningful difference in these students’ lives, along with making other charitable donations in his name and for that ability we are deeply grateful.

Meet the 2026 PDC JR Memorial Fund Little League Majors Team. Mary-Beth & I had the opportunity today to go up to Aquidneck Field & watch them play a game and it brought back so many fond memories of Pete's time playing there. In talking with the players, we asked what their record was and they said they did not know how many games they had won but identified that they had only lost one game. Today they played Seasons Corner Market, and it was a game played extremely well by both teams with PDC JR Memorial Fund holding on for a 6 – 3 victory. Besides the team photo we were also able to get some action shots of the team.

We are sure that Pete was looking down on the game today and was extremely impressed with how both teams played!!!!!!!!!

A big thanks to all the players and coaches for representing him so well!!!!!!!

Thanks, largely, to the incredible generosity of the community in supporting Pete’s Memorial Fund we were able to provide scholarships to five graduating Rogers Seniors.
