We do.

In a letter from the Council of Bishops-The United Methodist Church condemning the violence in Minnesota, all are reminded that The United Methodist Church "deplores the use of violence, fear, separation, and intimidation as a means of creating social order.

Such means do not build beloved community. We reaffirm our longstanding commitment to the sacred worth of every person and to the way of peace taught and embodied by Jesus. We stand against the separation of children from their families. We detest the inhumane, evil actions that are perpetuated by governmental authorities."

Yes, we are having in-person church today (16 Feb) but Scouting Sunday is postponed until 2 March

You're invited to a Virtual Porch gathering online on Tue., Feb. 25 @ 7pm ET | 4pm PT!

“This is the DEI that the Lord has made” is a 1-hour Virtual Porch panel discussion about DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.) These three letters have long been misused and misunderstood. Now the U.S. regime has taken it on as an enemy of the status quo.

Come to hear panelists take on these questions and more:

- What is DEI – and what is it not?
- Where did the push for DEI come from? What is its history, and where is it now?
- What is our faith imperative as Christians to respond to vanishing DEI efforts?
- What does the vilification of DEI mean for your churches and congregants?

This session is the first in a series of gatherings called "Made for This Moment." These gatherings will take place over the next several months. Through them, we hope to equip and encourage you through these assaults on justice and liberation.
