Sometimes, the smallest companions bring the biggest comfort🤍🐾

Thanks to generous donors, we were able to purchase three interactive companion animals for our residents, and they have quickly become very loved members of the John Clarke family!

For many of our residents, these little companions bring back memories of beloved pets they once had, or the dogs and cats that were part of their families over the years. There’s something so special about that familiar feeling of holding, petting and caring for an animal and we’ve already seen so many smiles and sweet moments because of them🥹

We’d love to continue adding more companion animals for our residents to enjoy. If you’d like to help us bring a little more comfort, connection and joy to our community, donors are always greatly appreciated🤍🐾

August is National Make-A-Will Month, an important reminder for all of us to make sure our wishes are documented and the people and causes we care about are protected🫱🏼‍🫲🏻

At John Clarke Senior Living, we believe supporting older adults and families extends beyond the care provided within our community. Part of that means sharing helpful resources that may benefit anyone in our greater community, whether or not you or a loved one calls John Clarke home✨

This month, our friends at Ocean State Media are highlighting a resource that allows individuals to create a legal will at no cost through Giving Docs!

Creating or updating a will can help provide clarity for loved ones, document your wishes, designate beneficiaries, and ensure the people and causes important to you are remembered.

If creating a will has been sitting on your “someday” list, National Make-A-Will Month may be the perfect reminder to get started.

John Clarke Senior Living is grateful to be one of the local nonprofits chosen to receive proceeds from the Citizens Pell Bridge Run! We're hoping to raise funds to purchase JOY FOR ALL Companion Pets for six residents.

Research and experience have shown that therapy pets can have a remarkable effect on individuals in the middle and later stages of Alzheimer's disease. They can help residents reconnect with positive memories and cherished moments from earlier in life.

For many, caring for a pet awakens feelings of purpose, nurturing, and joy.

Each pet costs $200.

Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to placing one of these comforting companions into the arms of a resident who could benefit from the joy, comfort, and connection they provide.

This month, we are proud to recognize Scott Hahn, our Director of Food Services, for an incredible 20 years of dedicated service at John Clarke Senior Living!!

For two decades, Scott has gone above and beyond to ensure our residents enjoy not only delicious, nutritious meals but also the warmth and comfort that comes with every dining experience. His leadership, commitment, and genuine care have helped make out dining program an important part of what makes John Clarke feel at home.

🎉Exciting news for John Clarke Senior Living!!

We are grateful to the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation (RIHEBC) for awarding funding to support critical infrastructure improvements at John Clarke Senior Living, Middletown's only nonprofit nursing center.

This grant will help upgrade HVAC systems in key operational areas, including our main hallway, IT room, and activities office. While these improvements may happen behind the scenes, they play an important role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for our residents, staff and families.

Investments like these strengthen the foundation of the care and services we provide every day!
