Here's a snapshot of the child care landscape in Lincoln County, Wisconsin. We have 11 Full-time/All year providers. Only 8 of them offer infant care. A recent study that surveyed Wisconsin providers found that 1 in 4 providers would close their doors with the end of the Child Care Counts program last month. In Lincoln County, upwards of 60% of providers would have to close. *Funding for child care providers was included in the Wisconsin budget agreement that will directly help providers through 2026. It is unclear when that program will start and what it will look like for providers.

Adopt A Provider was established by the Dream Up! Taskforce in Langlade and Lincoln Counties. This group of community advocates have been working to build and sustain child care to increase access and options for working families. At this time, the Adopt a Provider program is only offered to child care programs located in Langlade and Lincoln Counties.

Bill and I drove up to Tomahawk to advocate for the child care industry and our CCR&R's at a listening session with State Senator Felzkowski and Rep Callahan. After, we stopped to work on our swings. The Merrill Chamber golf outing is coming up!
