Location: Eagles Club Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young peo

ple to be the best they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists International conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people. Locally over 40 service projects and server well over 3000 youth by contributing or organizing events in our Merrill community.

Hi Everyone!
We want to bring some attention to an issue we've been having with our Magic Paper Box sites over the past couple of months. The Magic Paper Box is for exactly that, paper. When these boxes are used as a dumping ground for carboard and other garbage like what we've seen over the past few months it means that the company that provides this service for us cannot pick them up. These boxes provide not only a valuable place in our community but also a valuable partnership for our club so that we can continue supporting the Youth of Merrill. Please make sure that if you are using the Magic Paper Box the only things being put in them are:

📄Catalogs/Magazines
📄Junk Mail
📄Envelopes

Last day to get your curds!! Did you know that besides deep fried curds we have gallon bags full of the little nib-lets we sell too! Ask the front if we have any left that you can get for your next snack, toppings for your pizza, or mixed in with your eggs… to name a few! Pictured is one our youngest members learning how to filter the big curds from the nib-lets!

While we have your CHEESE CURD 🧀attention…. We have another opportunity to support the Merrill Youth coming up quickly!! Our 2nd Annual Golf Outing is Friday, August 14th here at the Merrill Public Golf Course. There’s still time to register a team, and let’s just say we have some awesome mega raffle opportunities!! Friday at the Fair!! And we’ll call it “fry oil Friday!” If you’re interested in our used fry oil please grab a box or two. We ask though that you only take the FULL box jugs of them. They’re located at the back of our stand.

Who’s excited for the Lincoln County Fair - Wisconsin!!?? 🎟️🎡 You know we are!!! 🖐️

Our next meeting, June 10th at noon at The Merrill Eagle’s Club we will have Cindi Christiansen from The Fair Board giving us an update as to what we can expect this year…

Cindi has played a part in the Lincoln County Fair for over 35 years. Serving as the administrator for the last 9 years. She takes care of all the exhibits, entries, state reports, as well as booking entertainment for the Wrestling Alumni entertainment tent.

Join us if you’re interested in hearing more about this year’s fair and learning what being an Optimist is about!

Join us tomorrow, May 27th at noon, at the Eagles Club of Merrill for our guest speaker, Cory Tomczyk. You know those blue magic paper boxes you see around town?? That’s him!

Cory started his company, IROW, in 1989. First as a collector and processor of scrap cardboard and paper. The company evolved into a document destruction service provider and also entered the Waste services market. Today mainly a Document, Hard Drive and Product destruction service company, IROW still does general Cardboard and Paper recycling and also some industrial scrap plastics. Serving North Central Wisconsin and now expanding eastward, IROW continues to provide the level of service that only a family-owned company can.

Guests to our Optimist Club get two meals free, so they can see what we’re all about before committing fully. We’re a great group of Merrill citizens and we’re excited to meet you!!

This past Saturday Optimists had the great pleasure of hosting After Prom Bowling! We had over 90 kids come out for free bowling, pizza, candy, and giveaways. Thank you so much to everyone who came out and thank you to Les & Jim's for having us💃🎳

Looking for a great way to connect with others in the Merrill community over lunch?
Join us at an upcoming Optimist Club meeting as we welcome guest speakers Dan Seanor and Andy Somers from Northcentral Technical College!
Dan and Andy are longtime Graphics instructors at NTC with decades of experience in education and the printing and graphic communications industry. During our meeting, they’ll share more about the work they do at Northcentral Technical College, their experiences in education, and how technical education continues to impact students and local communities.
Dan Seanor has taught at NTC for 27 years and previously worked as a cost estimator at Reindl Printing in Merrill. Andy Somers taught Graphic Communications at Wausau East High School for 10 years before joining NTC, where he has now taught for 12 years.
We’d love to have guests join us!
