The opera community has lost a brilliant light. Limmie Pulliam (1976–2026) first worked with Opera Memphis as a young artist in the 1999-2000 season, touring as a young artist and singign Spoletta in TOSCA. He returned to Memphis multiple times, including in a 2019 opera concert with the Memphis Symphony and Opera Memphis. Most recently he returned to the Memphis stage in March for Verdi’s Requiem, also with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
If you knew Limmie, you knew the vibrance that filled his every moment— always sharing a smile, a laugh, and an unforgettable voice. We are heartbroken by the news of his passing and deeply grateful for the artistry, joy, and presence he brought to our community. His voice and spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
