We had a great time representing the Memphis Challenge at Baptist Health Sciences University HealthCORE’s White Coats Summit as a community partner. Our team enjoyed connecting with students and families, sharing how Memphis Challenge helps prepare young people for success in college and beyond, and exploring the many pathways into healthcare and STEM careers.

A special thank you to Memphis Challenge class of 2021 alum Dallas Brown, for volunteering alongside us at our booth. We are always grateful when our alumni return to invest in the next generation of Challengers.

Preparing for college means more than academic success. It also means building creativity, confidence, communication, and self-expression

Our annual Tell Me a Story (TMAS) Project, has invited students to explore their identities through art for the last 10 years.

This year's theme, "Take a Walk in My Shoes," challenged students to design and construct a shoe sculpture that reflected their unique experiences, passions, and perspectives.

TMAS is more than an art project. It encourages students to think critically, communicate their experiences, and discover new ways to express themselves—skills that serve them well in college, careers, and life.

There is no Memphis without music. 🎶

As we close out Black Music Month, we honor the Black artists, musicians, producers, and performers whose creativity has made Memphis one of the most influential music cities in the world. Their artistry has shaped cultures, started movements, and continues to inspire new generations.

Our community is filled with that same spirit of creativity. We were honored to have John Smith Jr., one of our Class of 2026 seniors from Arlington High School heading to this fall, share his talent on the drums during this year’s Memphis Challenge Closing Celebration. His performance was a powerful reminder that the future of Memphis music is already here.

Whether on stage, in the classroom, on the field, or in the studio, our Challengers continue to showcase the incredible talent that exists throughout our city. 〽️

The 2025-26 Memphis Challenge Closing Celebration: Memphis Made — All Eyes On You, was a beautiful reminder of what happens when young people are supported, celebrated, and poured into by their community.

From honoring our seniors and announcing our Tech Solutions scholarship recipient, Madeline Furr, to introducing our new Ambassadors and previewing the incredible Tell Me A Story: “Take a Walk In My Shoes” sculptures, the evening was filled with joy, pride, and unforgettable moments.

Thank you as well to every parent, student, board member, mentor, volunteer, strategic partner, and supporter who showed up to celebrate our Challengers. Your presence continues to make this work possible.

Thank you to Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis for hosting us and to Groovy Gratitude for providing fresh and delicious meal options for our guests.

Registration is OPEN for our Summer Online Learning Experience, an 8 week online math program designed for students in grades 4 through 12 to stay sharp and get ahead.

Running June 1 through August 3, S.O.L.E. Math uses ALEKS, an advanced platform that creates a personalized learning path for each student. Through adaptive learning and real time assessment, students build confidence, strengthen skills, and focus on exactly what they need to succeed.
