As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11, we pause to remember.
We remember the lives lost.
We remember the heroes who answered the call.
We remember a nation that came together in one of its darkest moments.

We won't forget.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Today we celebrate the workers, volunteers, and everyday heroes who make a difference in our communities.
At Mid-South Lions, we believe service is work that changes lives.
Giving the Gift of Sight. Restoring the Joy of Sound. Changing Lives.
We invite our community to give back in celebration of Labor Day.

Strides walk at the 2026 USA/Canada Forum donated over $11000 to Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing to be used for Diabetic Retinopathy patients. Treasurer Toni Poe and CEO Brad Baker accepted the check. Toni was supposed to have 2 minutes to speak on Mid-South Lions behalf, but was not given that opportunity. She wanted to share with Mid-South Lions her presentation

DID YOU KNOW...

The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. The Central Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just a year later, on September 5, 1883.

By 1894, 23 more states had adopted the holiday, and on June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday in September of each year a national holiday.
