BCFAPA Surf Days with COSTA

One of the many ways BCFAPA supports foster, adoptive, kinship, and relative caregiver families is through our partnership with Certified Ocean Surf Therapy Adventures . This incredible partnership provides families with the opportunity to enjoy a fun and encouraging day at the beach while learning the basics of surfing.

During Surf Days, participants receive instruction from experienced mentors, learn surf safety and techniques, build confidence in the water, and experience the joy of trying something new in a supportive environment. Whether it's a child's first time on a surfboard or a caregiver cheering from the shoreline, these outings create opportunities for connection, growth, and lasting memories.

We are grateful to COSTA for helping make these experiences possible and for investing in the children and families we serve throughout Brevard County.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our fundraiser at The Space Bar! We are incredibly grateful to the restaurant, the American Space Museum & Space Walk of Fame, and our amazing local community for making the event such a success.

Together, we raised hundreds of dollars to help BCFAPA continue supporting foster, adoptive, kinship, and relative caregiver families throughout Brevard County.

One of the highlights of the evening was meeting three astronauts who worked on the space shuttle Atlantis! The American Space Museum also shared fascinating space artifacts and gave families the opportunity to learn about the night sky through telescope stargazing.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make this event truly out of this world!

Lagoon Loyal was one of our recent No School? Let's Hang! meetups, and what a fun day it was!

A special thank you to Stella Maris Environmental Research for teaching our families about the importance of protecting and caring for the Indian River Lagoon. After learning about the impact of pollution on our local waterways, participants got creative, turning recycled and discarded materials into unique works of art—showing that trash can become something meaningful rather than ending up in our lagoon.

Thank you to Stella Maris for inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards while creating a fun, hands-on learning experience for our families!

Not everyone is called to foster or adopt—but everyone can make a difference.
Supporting children in foster care doesn't always mean opening your home. It can mean giving your time, donating needed items, sponsoring a family event, partnering with BCFAPA, making a financial gift, or simply sharing our mission with others.

No matter your time, talents, or resources, there's a place for you in making a difference.
Interested in getting involved? We'd love to connect with you. Send us a message to learn more about how you can support local children and families.

On any given day in Florida, approximately 10,000 children are in foster care.

Across Brevard County, hundreds of children have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment and are in need of safe, supportive caregivers. These children come from all backgrounds and range in age from infancy through their teenage years.

While many children will eventually reunify with their families, others will find permanency through adoption. Every child deserves safety, stability, and the opportunity to thrive.

At BCFAPA, we are committed to supporting the foster, adoptive, kinship, and relative caregiver families who open their hearts and homes to children in need. Through resources, education, community connections, and family-centered programming, we help strengthen families and improve outcomes for children throughout Brevard County.

Together, we can make a difference—one child, one family, and one connection at a time.

What is a Family Connection Night?

BCFAPA's Family Connection Nights are quarterly gatherings created for foster, adoptive, kinship, and relative caregiver families. These events provide opportunities for families to connect with others who share similar experiences, build supportive relationships, enjoy family-friendly activities, and access resources in a welcoming environment.

Our most recent Family Connection Night took place at Life Church, where families gathered for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship. Thanks to our partnership with them and Heroes Chasing Hope , children and caregivers enjoyed interactive games and activities, including a superhero-themed obstacle challenge that encouraged teamwork, laughter, and connection.

Events like these are about more than just a fun night out. They help strengthen support systems, reduce isolation, build community, and remind families that they are not alone on their caregiving journey.

Thank you to Discover Life Church, Heroes Chasing Hope, our volunteers, and everyone who helps make these meaningful connections possible.

Teen Vibes Only is a BCFAPA program designed specifically for teens in foster, adoptive, kinship, and relative caregiver families.

The teen years can bring unique challenges, and many young people benefit from having a place where they can connect with peers who share similar experiences. Teen Vibes Only provides a safe, welcoming environment where teens can build friendships, strengthen confidence, and simply have fun. Through activities like game nights, outings, workshops, and special events, participants have opportunities to socialize, develop life skills, and create lasting memories in a supportive community.

We partner with organizations like WAYS for Life , Smile Forward , and The Brevard Youth Leadership Council to bring the most resources and fun to our youth who attend!
