Today we welcomed WorkSource Rogue Valley and a representative from Jackson County Mental Health to Golden Rule ReEntry for a tour and discussion about the work we each do in our community. We sat around a table, learning from one another, sharing our experiences and exploring how we can better support each other and the people we serve. For individuals returning to the community after incarceration, access to education, job training and professional certifications can be an important step toward rebuilding their lives.

Last week, we gathered to celebrate Spectrum’s generous $30,000 contribution to Golden Rule ReEntry! This funding will support our Career Pathways and Workforce Development program, helping reduce barriers to employment and connect people returning to our communities after incarceration with meaningful career opportunities. We are incredibly grateful to Spectrum for investing in our mission and the people we serve.

A big thank you as well to the public officials and community members who joined us, showed their support, and took the time to learn more about the work we do at Golden Rule. We’re grateful to be part of a community that believes in second chances!

Today we honor the stories, traditions and resilience of the Indigenous Peoples who have inhabited and cared for this land. They have a deep connection to the earth and have carried generations of knowledge and wisdom about caring for one another and the world we share. There is so much we can learn from them.

“Lived experience matters. Connection heals. And when we come together, we change what’s possible.”

Our Golden Rule ReEntry peer team recently attended Peermageddon last week, a gathering held in Southern Oregon to connect with fellow peer professionals, learn from shared experiences and bring new tools and ideas back to our community.

At GRR, we believe that lived experience is a powerful source of connection and hope. Our peer team continues to grow so they can better support people as they rebuild their lives.

We’re grateful to work alongside our reentry partners in creating more pathways to opportunity for those needing guidance and support before release. Preparing for life after incarceration means having a plan and access to the people and resources that can help make that plan possible. Career and resource fairs like this one create meaningful connections between Reentry partners on the outside who are there to make sure those on the inside are not alone once they leave those gates.

At Golden Rule ReEntry, we believe that health and wellness are an important part of rebuilding a life. Here at GRR, we grow our own lettuce and create fresh SALAD KITS for our community. One of our former participants volunteers his time to help assemble the kits.

Our lounge is open to anyone who visits our Drop-In Center. Whether you’re stopping by for a specific service, attending a class, meeting with a case manager or maybe you just want a cup of coffee, a bite to eat or you need a welcoming place to spend some time…you’re always welcome here.
