Did you know Back2Back’s 10th, and newest, site is in Culiacán, Mexico?

Founded in 2023, the site is currently led by a small team still in the discovery stages of care and building relationships with locals.

The Culiacán team is focused on connecting with local organizations and businesses with the intention of shifting the narrative and assumptions around foster care and in-country adoption.

As home to the state capital, Culiacán is where resources are available and decision-makers reside, and Back2Back is honored to be part of the conversation.

The city is also heavily populated by migrant workers and their families. As a result, children are often not in school so they can help support their family units.

Back2Back hopes to help parents and caregivers see the value of education for their children, themselves, and their futures. 🧡

What has God placed in your hands? 🪨

This year’s A Night of Hope theme, Throw Your Stone, is inspired by the story of David in 1 Samuel 17. God used the skills David had developed, and the stone already in his hand, to face something much bigger than himself.

We believe God still works this way.

Each of us has something to offer: our resources, relationships, experiences, prayers, and generosity. When we offer what God has given us, He can use it to create ripples of extraordinary change for vulnerable children and families.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

Today, we celebrate the many graduates in Mexico and all this moment represents for each of them. We honor your hard work and perseverance; we applaud your growth and the faith that helped carry you to this moment.

As you step into what comes next, may you hold tightly to this truth: He has gone before you, and He hems you in. He will guide your steps, replenish your courage on the difficult days, and remain with you in every moment. May His presence bring you peace as you step boldly into all that is ahead.

Happy World Goat Day! 🐐

Yes, it’s a real day, and these three look pretty happy about it. 😄

No matter where a child calls home, caring for an animal teaches a child many things: responsibility, gentleness, patience, and what it means to care for something dependent on you.

It also creates space for something children everywhere need: joy.

A goat to care for. Friends to laugh with. A reason for a really big smile.

At Back2Back, we believe restoring childhood includes creating opportunities for children to experience the simple joys of being a kid.

Back-to-school season can bring big feelings like excitement, nervousness, uncertainty, or a little bit of everything. 💛

As children settle into new classrooms and routines, getting to know new teachers and maintaining friendships, one of the most important things parents and caregivers can offer is a steady, supportive presence.

Creating predictable routines, making space for emotions, practicing calming strategies, and finding small moments to connect can help children feel safe and supported as they navigate back to school transitions.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes simply listening or reminding a child they aren’t alone can make a meaningful difference.

As you and your student(s) prepare for another school year, remember: helping children feel safe and supported gives them a stronger foundation for learning, growing, and thriving. 📚✨

A diploma is a piece of paper, but what it represents can change a life. 🎓

Finishing high school is more than the close of a school year for graduates in Nigeria. It’s evidence of their perseverance and the beginning of a future open to possibilities.

Cycles are often broken one courageous step at a time: a completed education, a door opened, a young adult seeing their own possibility for the first time.

This is restoration: young people equipped to choose for their own futures, using God-given gifts, and forging new paths for themselves and the generations that will follow.

Today, we celebrate every graduate and this hard-earned milestone. We celebrate every person who walked alongside them and the grit each student displayed in reaching for what once felt impossible.

Congratulations, graduates. This is only the beginning - adventure awaits!

Some summer internships are about gaining experience. This one asked for something more.

This summer, interns worked hard, served faithfully, and stepped into Back2Back’s mission with arms open and hearts willing.

They chose to move toward difficult stories instead of away from them.

They listened and learned. They served alongside staff and entered spaces where children and families are carrying realities not easily fixed. They discovered that sometimes making a difference starts by showing up and staying. Because when a child is experiencing distress, someone has to be willing to move closer.

To our summer interns: thank you. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, flexibility, and willingness to spend your summer serving alongside us. We are so grateful for the role you played in helping restore childhood. We are in if you are in. 🤍
