The mission of the Northern Cincinnati Youth Orchestras is to foster and promote the musical interests and abilities of each individual student while striving for excellence. NCYO - Northern Cincinnati Youth Orchestras offers three levels of orchestral experience for area string students. Violin, viola, cello and bass students through grade 12 are eligible for acceptance in either the Concertino,

Cadet, or Senior Orchestra. We develop our string players musically, as well as enhance such skills as cognitive learning, tolerance, independent thinking, and cultural awareness. NCYO is a 501(c)3 organization and is affiliated with the Southwest Ohio Philharmonic Orchestra (SWOPhil.org). We are happy to provide an orchestra experience for homeschoolers and students in schools with no string programs, as well as support those schools with orchestra programs by providing an enrichment
experience for interested students. The repertoire is varied, embracing both “classical” and “alternative” styles while maintaining a level of excellence.

NCYO 2026 camp starts next Monday, June 15th!  The camp is 8:30 am to noon Monday, through Friday, June 19 in the Mason area. http://bit.ly/NCYOsuzuki26 to sign up or for more information. Your Suzuki student will make 5 weeks’ worth of progress in 5 days for less than the cost of 5 private lessons.

Congratulations to the NCYO Cadet and Senior Orchestras directed by Marva Rasmussen! They competed at the Kings Island Music in the Parks competition this past weekend. A total of over 2200 students in bands, orchestras and choirs participated. Not only did our NCYO students get first place in their category, they were also awarded Best Overall Orchestra, and received the highest score of any orchestra, band, or choir that participated for the entire weekend.

Members of the northern Cincinnati youth Orchestras were the background music for a Franklin Ohio city leaders Christmas party. They played in a very historic mansion / museum and did an excellent job!
