Our mission is to elevate pride events in the UP, to make connections between all of the UP-wide 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations, and to provide and share supportive resources to the community. Our organization consists of people of all backgrounds with one common goal: to bring PRIDE to the UP! We are passionate about providing safe spaces, offering resources, and connecting 2SLGBTQIA+ groups across the

Upper Peninsula. UP Rainbow Pride believes that everyone should be free to express their s*xuality and gender in a way that is healthy and affirming. Pride is having the freedom to embrace your identity while being able to overcome the obstacles faced on a daily basis. Pride is unconditional love: the belief that everyone should be free to explore and celebrate their identity regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, color, s*x, s*xual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, gender transition, genetic information, age, marital status, familial status, political belief, religion, citizenship, veteran or military status, medical condition, or mental or physical disability. Pride is about living and loving authentically, which everyone should be able to do fearlessly.

Equality Michigan’s Community Educator is hitting the road to bring educational support about the LGBTQIA2S+ community to the UP!

Rainbow Roadshow: UP Community Education Tour is a week-long tour across the Upper Peninsula to provide education on the LGBTQIA2S+ community, build connections between members of the Rural Pride Collective Coalition, and contribute to infrastructure development of LGBTQIA2S+ affirming healthcare and social services.

By coming to the UP, we aim to provide practical tools, answer questions in real time, exchange literature and resources, and support partnered organizations in becoming safer, more informed access points for our Q***r community members.

From Outdoor Adventure Therapy Services at NMU:

Do you find yourself longing for a version of your home that no longer exists? Has your sense of belonging to your identity, culture, or natural environment shifted over the past years? Our 6-week Rooted in Wellbeing group seeks to explore how nature integration, q***r community building, & a connection to our more-than-human kin can empower our sense of belonging in an ever-changing world. As we sit with the degradation of human rights & environmental wellbeing, we want to challenge the narrative that we remain without power. Alternatively, we will call upon you to examine how you are navigating unprecedented political, cultural, and environmental stress and how WE can find ways to lean into community, embodiment, and resilience.

What to Expect:

A six-week closed psychoeducational group designed to support LGBTQIA+ folks navigating ecological stress. This space will be a small, intimate setting that allows for voices to be heard and shared. Each week we will meet at a different outdoor location around Marquette. Expect routine and novel weekly experiences that integrate interpersonal & intrapersonal reflection and processing.

✅ Potential barriers to housing for LGBTQ+ folks

This training will apply most to housing advocates and housing consumers. However, anyone interested in learning more about this topic is welcome to attend, including housing providers!
