bb County, Georgia. Many of our members are from other parts of the state and the country and we want to help everyone in their research regardless of the locations. When and Where We Meet:
General Meetings are held at 7 PM on the fourth Tuesday of every month, except December and as otherwise published in the Calendar of Events on our website. We are currently meeting via Zoom and you will need to register for our events in advance. Board of Directors meetings are held at 7 PM on the first Tuesday of each month or as otherwise noted, except December. All visitors are welcome!

Ever hit a brick wall in your genealogical research? The answer might be hiding in a probate file. Beyond just dividing assets, historic probate records offer an intimate window into our ancestors’ lives, detailing everything from their household possessions to unnamed family relationships. Join us on September 10th as we welcome Cobb County Probate Court Judge Tara Riddle for a special lecture on utilizing these legal treasures. Link to tickets in comments.

There is just one more day to submit a proposal for our 2026 workshop!

We are excited to announce the upcoming 'My Favorite Process' virtual workshop on August 22 and 29. We are asking CCGS members to submit proposals for engaging, informative presentations on genealogy methods and processes that work well in your own research.

We would like these proposals to include time for Q+A discussions, along with activities attendees can participate in during the Zoom calls. We are targeting this series towards prospective members of the society, especially beginner genealogists.

The form to let us know if you are interested is available here: https://forms.gle/fpwHuKSQKAZ4sx8u5. The form is due July 14. Speakers will be notified by July 21 about if their topic has been accepted. Handouts are due on August 4, and a rehearsal to iron out any technical issues will take place on August 15. Speakers unable to attend that date will be able to schedule a separate rehearsal time.

As you continue to uncover your ancestor's story, we hope that you will reflect on their role in the history of their communities.
