𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐜𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐛 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐠𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐫. 𝐎𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲...𝘢 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘨𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦.

Wallace McComb Montgomery, Jr., age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Born on February 28, 1932, in New York City, Wallace moved to Marietta when he was a few weeks old. He attended Marietta schools and graduated from Marietta High School in 1949. Wallace was an active student at Marietta High School. He entered in 1945 and served on Student Council. He was a member of Hi Y, M Club, and played basketball his junior and senior year. His senior superlative was 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐲.

He earned a BS from Georgia Tech in 1954 and then served two years as a Second Lieutenant in the US Marines. Following his discharge from the Marines, Wallace took a job with the Georgia Marble Company. His first job with the Georgia Marble Company was in Knoxville, TN, where he remained for seven years. He returned to Marietta in 1964 where he spent the rest of his life. He had a number of positions at the Georgia Marble Company, finally rising to be Executive Vice President. He left the Georgia Marble Company in 1973 and entered his second career in real estate, in which he was both a developer and a broker.

Throughout his life, Wallace was active in his church, the First Presbyterian Church, where he was one of the first in the church’s Scout Troop to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He also served as a Deacon. Having served on the Long Range Facilities Planning Committee during the 1970s, Wallace was a part of building Holland Hall and renovating the Patton Building. Wallace was related to Rev. Rhadamanthus Montgomery, who served for a short while as the second pastor of FPC in 1836.

He was also active as a long time member of the Marietta Country Club and enjoyed a wide circle of friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Elizabeth Montgomery, and his son and daughter in law, William George Montgomery and Elizabeth Glazer, as well as three grandchildren, Eliza, Quentin and Aaron, and one great grandson, Leo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mary Montgomery, and his wife, Catherine Montgomery.

His memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, 189 Church Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

Beverly Marie (Hill) Graham, 90, a lifelong resident of Marietta, Georgia, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on August 7, 2026. Born on July 15, 1936, to Edward Dorsey Hill Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth (Cochran) Hill, she was the eldest of four children. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia. Burial will follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.

Beverly grew up on the Hill Family Farm on Terrell Mill Road, a place that shaped her understanding of faith, family, and community. Her childhood was rooted in the rhythms of farm life, and the closeness of her extended family became the backdrop in the lives of her own children and grandchildren, where cousins lived next door, and family gatherings were large, joyful, and filled with love.

Starting grade school at Smyrna Elementary, she graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna, class of 1954. Beverly remained close to many of her classmates throughout her life. She especially cherished her time with "the Campbell Girls."

In 1955, Beverly married Bobby Ray Graham. Their devoted marriage lasted until his passing in 2004. Together, they built a home known for its warmth, hospitality, and kindness. Beverly worked at DePuy Reagan and Associates in Chamblee, Georgia, for more than twenty years. She retired in March 2000.

A faithful member of Macland Baptist Church, Beverly sang in the choir and took part in the Sunday school class led by Mr. Gene Hice. Her gentle spirit, generosity, and devotion to her family and community reflected the faith that guided her life. Beverly was known for her impeccable sense of style and delighted in choosing outfits and accessories that reflected her bright personality. She was also a gifted cook who rarely wrote down a recipe, yet her meals created countless treasured memories for her family.

Beverly is survived by her sons Eddie (Gail), Ken (Lynn), and Kerry (Cindy); her granddaughters Hannah, Caitlin, and Rebecca; her great‑grandchildren Brylee and Wilder; her brother-in-law, Frank Luttrell; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Edward "Bill" Dorsey Hill Jr., Sara Diane Luttrell, and John Mitchell Hill.

Beverly's life was a testament to faith, family, and love. Her influence lives on through the generations she nurtured, and her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia and also Friday morning August 14, 2026 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia.

A graduate of the MHS Class of 1985 has passed away, Frank Smith.

Franklin Smith, Jr., age 58, of Dallas, GA entered his eternal rest on Friday, July 24, 2026. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving family and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Smith will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home and Chapel, 907 Church Street Extension, NW, Marietta, GA 30060.

Today in Marietta, GA is Jeanette Quintal Hunter Day. This former First Lady of Marietta is 100 years old!! What a joyous milestone.

Jeanette founded Hunter Realty, served as Chair of the Marietta Development Authority, led as a Poll Manager for the City of Marietta, earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women’s Democratic Coalition, and proudly represented Marietta through the Sister City Program.

Her husband, James R. "Dick" Hunter, was born in Marietta, Georgia. He was the youngest of nine children. During the 1940s, he spent more than one tour in the Navy.

One of his Naval assignments carried him to the Boston area. There he met his future bride Jeannette Quintal - married on August 18, 1945. His brother Stanley just happened to be in the area attending an Army school and got to attend the wedding.

After his Navy time Dick and Jeanette moved to Marietta with their new young family. He went to work at Lockheed as a planner and in time became a city councilman (1964-1969, Ward 4) and after that Mayor of Marietta (1970-1973).

Let's join Mayor Steve Tumlin in his request to wish her a happy birthday and recognize her lifetime of service. Enjoy your special day Jeanette! Thank you for your service to Marietta.
