Thanks to all who attended Pat Tasse's Visitation and Funeral Services. Her burial will be at the Georgia National Cemetery Tuesday Feb 24 @ 1400 hours.

Please honor Pat by attending her burial service.

It is forecast to be rather chilly for the burial. Upper 40s with a 6-10 mph wind. The burial activities will be at one of the shelters. These have a roof, but no walls. Dress warm. See Doug's comments below.

If you have not attended a burial at the GA National Cemetery: On arrival, head to toward the visitor center. You will turn right and enter a lot where cars line up for the burial. The cemetery staff will lead the procession of cars to the shelter area. After parking at the shelter's parking area it will be a short walk to the shelter. Attendees will be dismissed at the shelter - the National Cemetery does not allow attendees to go to the grave site to observe the burial due to the risk of falling into open graves.

After the burial I believe we will adjourn to Rally Point for lunch.

My dearly departed wife, Pat will be buried at the GA National Cemetery Canton GA. She requested that we be buried together, she had the hardest job in our Corps "Wife of a Marine".
Uniform is your MCL Cover, no Red Blazer or Detachment shirt, only Cover (and it could be cold).

Line up a bit before 1400 Tuesday 24th Feb.
I greatly appreciate all who came to funeral home and the service was recorded, just go to Mayes Ward Dobbins Obit " Patricia Tasse" and select Tribute.

I look forward to having my fellow members join me in laying Pat to rest.

It's a beautiful cemetery and I am honored that she chose to be with all those who served our great nation.

ATTENTION ON DECK! I received word from Dean Prickett, Det. 647, that his godson U.S.M.C. Corporal Kyle X. Pastore, was recently awarded the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal. If you remember, it wasn't too long ago that this Marine was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Outstanding Kyle... outstanding.

Marine veteran and pastor Michael Ryan Burke lost his life during a robbery at his Columbia, Missouri home over a Facebook Marketplace sale. Despite fatal wounds, he called 911 with suspect details and sent a final text to his mother and sister: “I’m dying and I love you.” Three 18-year-olds and one juvenile now face second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and burglary charges.
Burke achieved remarkable impact. A University of Missouri graduate with degrees in psychology and sociology, he served as a decorated U.S. Marine combat veteran. As a pastor and humanitarian, he led missionary work in poor regions worldwide, fueled by faith and compassion. He also battled human trafficking.
Prayers go out to his family and friends.

On January 13th Detachment members Doug Tasse and David Holmes participated in the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of GA annual wreath laying at the tomb of Marine General Raymond G. Davis (MOH). Gen Davis was a member of Detachment 647.
