(Please share) We’ve helped so many families lately that we haven’t even had time to stop and share the numbers—but it’s been a lot! Fourteen families in the last week alone. That's the most we've ever assisted in one week.

After having a good supply for a while, we are now almost completely out of bed pillows. Pillows are currently on sale at Kohl’s (extra 25% valid through May 3), and we would be so grateful if you could pick some up for us. If you have Kohl’s Cash you don’t plan to use (at any time), we can absolutely put it to good use.

If you’re part of a church, book club, or group—this is a really easy item to do a quick drive for. Last year, we gave out over 1,000 pillows. This year, we will need even more based on what we’re seeing.

If it’s easier, financial donations are always helpful too—we’ll use them to purchase pillows (or many of our other much-needed items). Questions or need our shipping address? Email: [email protected]

Thank you for helping us keep up with the need ❤️

This The Big One pillow is built for comfort. The ultrasoft support gives you the utmost in comfort. In white.

SNGA turned 16 years old on Friday!

We’re so thankful for all of the support over the years — donations of furniture, household items, birthday or Christmas gifts, and dollars (which we stretch as much as possible). And for the amazing volunteers who show up week after week to help us do this work. We truly could not do any of this without you.

Because of your involvement, thousands of families have had beds to sleep on, furniture to make a house feel like home, and basic essentials when they needed them most. Kids were able to receive gifts on their birthdays, and Christmas could truly be Christmas in homes that otherwise would not have been able to. So many people have been impacted through our seven programs.

As we celebrate 16 years, we’re also looking ahead as the need continues. We are currently low on comforters, towels, pillows, table lamps, newborn diapers, baby wipes - and much more. (See some links in comments if you'd like to help out now.) And we always appreciate gently used, clean kitchen/bed/bath items, as well as help with furniture pickups and deliveries.

If you’ve been meaning to clean out or get involved, this is a great time. And, as always, we’re grateful for any financial support so we can purchase items when donations run low. If you have questions, or need more information on anything, please email [email protected].

Thank you for being part of what we do. Sixteen years in, and still going strong because of this community.

(please share) "I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and the Simple Needs team for helping my family during this time. We truly appreciate the support and everything you are doing to help us get settled into our home. Your kindness means a lot, and we’re very grateful for the assistance."

From a client who we have not even helped yet...

We have been SUPER busy over the last few months. If you have any gently used, clean kitchen/bed/bath items to donate, we would really love to have them. If you have a truck or can help pick up or deliver furniture (most of your time is spent driving from place to place), we would love to have you.

Below are photos of some empty or near-empty shelves. We want to be sure our clients get the basics, so when we run low, we end up buying A LOT of items. We truly appreciate any financial donations so we can purchase what we need, when we need it. (We spend our money wisely and search for the best deals, often stocking up when something is on sale — which is why Brenda's living room and a bedroom are currently storage!)

Often people ask what we need most at any given time, which we’re always happy to share:
https://simpleneedsgablog.com/drives/

Keep in mind, though, that we can take items we need at any time. Please consider cleaning out and donating to help our families!

Very top needed items right now include comforters (twin and full/queen), bath towels, baby items, and much more. We’re happy to send a more detailed list if you’re interested. Just email [email protected] for that list, or for the address of our (every) Saturday Donation Drives (10am–1pm).

Rain, rain, go away! It's Saturday and we have volunteers waiting to go out and deliver to clients! From one client via email this morning -"The kids are so excited about their bed and stuff. They have been up waiting."

Who has a weather stick??

Donation Drive is on as usual (held every Saturday from 10 to 1, rain or shine). We are out of king blankets and comforters. Low on several other items. If you have anything to donate, let us know via email - [email protected].

We love our furniture volunteers! We could love you, too, if you wanted to help us out. :) We need more folks on our distribution list to help out on Saturdays when you're free (even if it's just once every two months) - to drive our box truck, drive your pick up truck, or just help out in general (labor). If you have a pick up truck, we could use your help on days other than Saturdays. We need more help tomorrow, Feb 7 (and future Sats). Photo here is from 2023... we'd love to have some larger groups again so we can get more done, or at least get things done faster. We pick up from donors and deliver to clients (in Cobb County). Most of the time is spent driving from place to place. If you are interested or have questions, please email [email protected]. Thanks for the consideration!

From one of our volunteers: We were delivering furniture to a young mother with two toddlers in an empty apartment. The oldest of the two toddlers, a 4-year old girl, was very excited to see us. When we brought their sofa through the front door of the apartment, she started jumping up and down and joyfully shouted "my heart is exploding!" Bringing comfort and joy to people is what SNGA is all about. Being part of the SNGA volunteer team and helping people at a vulnerable time is incredibly rewarding.:

"Good afternoon Ms. Brenda, this is 'SJ', who had a premature baby and I had reached out for help and you helped me. I hope that you are doing well.

I'm just texting to let you know that I haven't forgotten the goodness that you did for me when I needed it the most. I must say that every day I am still reminded of the help I received from Simple Needs and I can't say thank you enough. Sometimes I'm emotional because Simple Needs was the place that assisted me when I was broken and looking for some help.

Thank you again to you Ms. Brenda and I am forever grateful ❤

My child has been doing alot better and I am taking it one day at a time.

I wish you and your Organization God's richest blessings, and for love and kindness to continue flowing from within."

Did you know that when you buy a ticket to or ride the skyride at the North GA State Fair, you are also helping your community? I didn't know that until about a year ago. They provide scholarships to high school seniors and funding to local non profits. We are truly grateful for being a recipient again this year. The funds will go a long way in helping people in our community. Thank you, board members!!!!

Last night, the Cobb County Fair Association held its annual meeting, and we’re proud to share some meaningful milestones.

The 2025 Superior Plumbing Presents North Georgia State Fair was officially recognized as the most successful fair in the event’s 93-year history. This achievement reflects the dedication of our board, volunteers, partners, and the community that continues to support the Fair year after year.

At the meeting, Fair President Colin Meaders presented Snyder Turner of Calvary Children's Home with a $100,000 donation, reinforcing the Fair’s commitment to Calvary Children's Home.

The Board also adopted the Giving Committee’s recommendations to award an additional $405,000 in community donations, which will be presented at our Scholarship & Donations Banquet on Monday, June 8, 2026.

The following organizations were selected for support in 2026:

$15,000 grants to:
Circles of Cobb , Cobb Christmas Inc., Cobb Collaborative, Cobb Journalism Fund, Cobb Sheriff's Foundation, Inc., The Earl Smith Strand Theatre, HEAL Atlanta, Loving Arms Cancer Outreach, Marietta Firefighter Support Fund, MDE School, Miss Cobb County Scholarship Program, MUST Ministries, Simple Needs GA, Inc., Special Needs Cobb, and 10 Women of Hope.

$20,000 grants to:
The Center for Family Resources, Waymark Foster, and The Dave Krache Foundation.

$35,000 grants to:
LiveSafe Resources and The Extension, Inc..

$50,000 in matching funds to the Cobb Schools Foundation.

In addition, the 2026 North Georgia State Fair and Drew Exposition Scholarship application is now open. This year, the Fair will award ten $5,000 scholarships to graduating Cobb County high school seniors, continuing our long-standing commitment to investing in local students and the future of our community.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make the North Georgia State Fair more than an event—by turning success into real, lasting impact across our community.

See you September 24-October 4, 2026 as we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America!

Neither rain nor snow…
Huge thanks to the amazing volunteers (Molly, Tad, Dave, Harry, Linda and Grant) who braved the cold to help at our warehouse or make deliveries today! And to Ellen who worked at our furniture location. Because of them, more people will sleep comfortably tonight on mattresses and have the household items they need.

We’ll revisit these families later with larger furniture, but for now, they have the essentials — and that makes a big difference. 💙

Why you help us:

“This is absolutely a miracle from God. We really weren’t sure what we were going to do for Christmas for the kids, especially after the accident just days before Thanksgiving. You took the time to hear what we needed, what the kids wanted, and went far beyond anything we expected. I’m trying not to get emotional, but we are so incredibly grateful.”

“Starting over from scratch and not having anything — and not having the money to buy what we needed — was overwhelming. The items we received were so needed and so helpful. I don’t have much to give in return, but please know how deeply thankful we are.”

“Thanks to your support, we now have a more comfortable, stable, and dignified living environment. Knowing that organizations like yours exist to help families during difficult times is truly heartwarming.”

“For six months we bounced between motels. The kids shared a toddler mattress on the floor when we stayed with friends. Now we have a fully furnished home, beds to sleep in, and a table where the kids can eat and do schoolwork. We finally have everything we need, and we are so grateful.”

“I could not stop crying while unpacking everything into our apartment. I never imagined anyone would help us like this. You didn’t just give us furniture — you gave us hope.”

“We lost everything. When we walked into our apartment and saw it furnished, I felt human again. I felt loved. This wasn’t just help — it was life-changing.”

“I am sitting here on the sofa you blessed us with, cooking meals in pots we didn’t have before, watching my kids sleep in their own beds. You helped us gain our strength back.”

“What I thought was going to be the worst day of my life became the most beautiful day. You were there for my children when I couldn’t be. I will never forget that.”

“I had never owned basic kitchen items before — a cutting board, a cheese grater. I’m 36 years old. Thank you for giving my kids and me a real home.”

“This was the first night in a long time that I cooked a home-cooked meal and sat at a table with my children. That moment meant everything to us.”

“I didn’t expect my child to receive birthday gifts at all. Seeing his face light up reminded me that someone cared. You made his birthday possible.”

“My daughter’s birthday was special because of you. She felt seen, loved, and celebrated during a very hard season.”

“I’ve been living in and out of hotel rooms and with friends. This Christmas was the best we’ve had since my daughter was born. You matched their wishes perfectly.”

“Everything was either brand new or barely used — beds, furniture, kitchen items. It felt like my life was coming back together.”

“We woke up one morning with no beds and no food. By the end of the day, we had both. That moment will stay with me forever.”
