🌏❤️ From Marblehead to Nepal, a friendship built over decades is answering the call for help once again.

Physical therapist Patricia Sullivan spent years teaching and working in Nepal, helping establish rehabilitation services after the devastating 2015 earthquake. Now 80, she may not be making the 20-hour journey back — but she’s still finding a way to help.

Sullivan and Marblehead Harbor Rotary have launched a Nepal Relief Fund to provide food, shelter, clothing and medical and rehabilitation supplies to communities devastated by flooding.

🎒🍎 And they’re back!

There were first-day jitters, big smiles, goodbye hugs and happy reunions Monday morning as about 3,000 Marblehead students headed back to school.

Some walked, some biked, some scooted — and some could barely contain their excitement as they waited for the doors to open. ❤️

Here’s to new teachers, old friends, plenty of learning — and, as second-grader Mila Curtin reminded us, recess! 😊📚

⛸️ Skating on Bobby’s Pond, backyard ice rinks and the birth of Marblehead Youth Hockey.

In part three of Marblehead Memories, lifelong Marbleheader Don Orne takes us back to winters when skating was a way of life — and shares how his father, Bud Orne, helped generations of local kids get on the ice. 🏒❄️

It’s a wonderful trip into Marblehead’s past, from 120 Pleasant St. to the ponds, rinks and arenas that shaped a childhood — and a community.

🚲 A mistake — and a chance to make it right.

After a group of local teens vandalized a shed at Marblehead’s Green Street Bike Park, they came forward, admitted what they had done and returned to help tear down the damaged structure.

For the adults who run the park, it became a lesson in responsibility, community and second chances — at a place built “by the kids, for the kids.”

And while the teens worked, younger riders kept doing what they love: hitting the trails, catching some air and enjoying one of Marblehead’s favorite spots for kids.

🐾💛 Talk about a golden moment!

More than two dozen golden retrievers — and their humans — gathered beneath the Marblehead Lighthouse for an annual tradition that’s been bringing smiles (and wagging tails) for 15 years.

What started with just seven English goldens has grown into one very adorable family portrait. 📸🐶
