On March 29, 2026, a fire accident left Angelo with third-degree burns over 65% of his body. What followed was a fight for his life—a medically induced coma, multiple surgeries, organ failure, and sepsis.

Against all odds, Angelo kept fighting. After months of intensive daily physical, occupational, and wound therapy, he relearned how to walk and returned home in August.

While his recovery is far from over, facing ongoing outpatient therapy and future surgeries, Angelo is deeply grateful to be alive and determined to inspire other burn survivors.

As a self-employed primary provider, the nearly five-month absence from work has placed a massive financial strain on his family.

This past Monday, teams faced off at the CCNB Golf Club for the second annual HSF Cup. Modeled after the Ryder Cup, the day featured incredible camaraderie and spirited competition.

The Red Team took home the HSF Cup this year, but the real winner was the cause. Thanks to our generous participants and sponsors, we raised vital funds for Hope Strengthens Foundation to support patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses, severe disabilities, and traumatic injuries.

Last Friday, Hope Strengthens Foundation had the privilege of volunteering for Home Base's annual 9/11 Service Project. Together, volunteers prepared more than 1,100 care packages for locally deployed troops serving far from home, for veterans facing housing instability, and for those seeking mental health care through Home Base.

A special shout-out to the incredible young leaders from Project 351. Watching them step up to honor and remember those lost on September 11th, an event that predates their own lives, was deeply moving.

“No Day Shall Erase You From the Memory of Time.”

This quote from Book IX of Virgil's Aeneid reflects the transformative power of remembrance. Each letter of the quote was forged by artist Tom Joyce using recovered World Trade Center steel.

The words form a central part of artist Spencer Finch’s museum installation, “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning.” Surrounding the text are 2,983 watercolor squares, each a unique shade of blue representing a victim of the 1993 and 2001 attacks.

25 years later. Let us never forget.

STEPPING UP FOR BRYCE

Hope Strengthens Foundation recently connected with the family of an inspiring 3-year-old boy named Bryce Mott, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer.

Bryce's initial treatment plan consisted of 4 to 6 three-week chemotherapy cycles. However, following additional imaging and biopsy testing, medical teams discovered that the cancer had metastasized to the surface of the bones around the base of his spine. As a result, a more aggressive treatment plan, including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery over the next 18 months, is now necessary.

We are rallying our community of supporters to help provide the tangible financial and emotional support Bryce and his family will need on the road ahead. As a starting point, we are targeting medical and care expenses that have already begun to accumulate. Longer-term, with your help, our goal is to cover the following ongoing care expenses:

💚 $300 per month for medical bills/copays

💚 $200 per month for medical travel expenses

💚 $100 per month for home care needs
