As a Black man, a father, and a community leader, I cannot ignore the concerns being raised in our community regarding the number of Black individuals who have gone missing or been found deceased in Maple Grove and surrounding areas over the past few years.

Our pain, fear, and questions should never be dismissed. Every life matters, and every family deserves truth, transparency, dignity, and justice. Asking for accountability and a deeper review of these cases is not about creating division it is about protecting human life and building public trust.

I believe it is reasonable for community members to ask for all available resources, including potential federal review or assistance if necessary, to ensure that every case has been thoroughly investigated and that no family feels forgotten.

As leaders, we must remain responsible in our words while still standing firmly with our communities. We must continue advocating for safety, transparency, fairness, and equal value for Black lives in every city and every system.

We pray for the families impacted and call on all agencies to continue working openly and diligently to provide answers and reassurance to the community.

As an immigrant from Senegal, I am profoundly proud of my daughter Adja for the way she stands in our community and honors the many immigrants who left behind their country, culture, friends, and family to build a new life here and raise their American‑hyphenated children. A day like this is what so many immigrants dream of witnessing in America. May we continue to hope and to believe in what is possible.
