There is a special joy and satisfaction in helping someone regain hope, recognize their worth, and move forward. To everyone serving others through your professional role: your compassion matters, and your work makes a difference.

We are, and always will be, human. I believe that human beings are the best medicine for one another. Listening, showing kindness, and believing in someone can make a tremendous difference during their most difficult moments. I bring that spirit to everyone I work with.

My training as a human rights consultant reinforced principles that guide my service:

• Everyone deserves the right to work, freely choose their employment, enjoy fair working conditions, and receive protection against unemployment.
• Everyone deserves equal pay for equal work, without discrimination.
• Everyone deserves fair compensation that supports a life of dignity for themselves and their family, with social protection when needed.
• Everyone deserves the right to form and join trade unions to protect their interests.

These principles are personal to me. Behind every participant is a human being with a story, a family, challenges, talents, and dreams. Each deserves to be heard, respected, and supported.

That is why my participants hold such a special place in my work. Their progress brings me joy, and their trust is a privilege I never take for granted.

Throughout my career in the helping field, I have been honored to walk alongside people as they build their futures. To my fellow professionals in service: thank you for bringing humanity to your work. We may not always see the full impact of our care, but it matters.

Let us keep seeing the person, honoring their dignity, and celebrating their victories

I am grateful for the time I spent visiting Maple Grove residents today and listening to their experiences and perspectives.

A special thank-you to Bithow, a young Sudanese American in our community, who volunteered with my campaign and learned more about our local election. I appreciated seeing him engage with residents and receive so many welcoming responses. It is an honor to encourage young people, especially youth who may recognize part of their own journey in mine, to become involved in their community.

Thank you to Rich, a proud Maple Grove resident of 50 years, and to Mark and his family for their warm welcome. I also appreciated hearing from Tom and his wife about the changes they have witnessed during their 40 years in Maple Grove.

Renae, thank you for reminding us that even those living near the Osseo border remain an important part of Maple Grove. We are one community, and we value our friendships with our Osseo neighbors.

Thank you also to Austin for the excellent customer service at Holiday in Osseo and for the enjoyable conversation over the buy-two-get-one-free Gatorade offer!

Finally, thank you to Dan for sharing your apple-tree expertise and for allowing me to place a campaign yard sign on your property.

The City of Maple Grove officially lists me as one of the candidates seeking one of two City Council seats in the November 3, 2026 general election. I remain grateful for every conversation and every opportunity to learn from the people of our community. (maplegrovemn.gov⁠)

What an unforgettable evening at the 2026 Minneapolis NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner on September 12!

The event was a tremendous success, bringing together community members, leaders, advocates, and supporters united by a shared commitment to justice, equality, and freedom.

We were deeply honored to welcome the legendary Angela Davis as our special guest. Her lifelong courage, activism, and dedication to racial, economic, and gender justice continue to inspire generations.

Thank you to the Minneapolis NAACP Executive Team, members, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this powerful evening possible. Together, we remain rooted in justice and rising in power!
