Atwater Area Help for Seniors The Atwater Area Help for Seniors Program is designed to support seniors so they may stay in their home and community as long as safely possible.

The Atwater Area Help for Seniors, a LAHBNP, relies on volunteers to provide the senior citizens of Atwater with friendly visitors, phone calls to check on seniors, and rides to appointments be it doctor, hair, to get groceries or medication. The volunteers also deliver meals from the local meal site to home bound seniors each day. The staff consists of a director and a volunteer coordinator. Monetary support consists of a DHS grant, smaller county grants and donations from clients, their families, the City of Atwater and other community members.

What amazing night we were blessed to attend last night at the Willmar Community Foundation Gala. Our program was 1 of 3 non-profit organizations that were featured for a grant award. The video attached was played for an audience of over 300 community members.

We will be serving a baked potato bar meal & enjoying the play with questions & discussion about Dementia & Alzheimer’s following. Good Monday morning! Due to the inclement weather on Saturday at the Oktoberfest celebration we have a lot of remaining goodies that are for sale. Canned goods - apple pie filling, salsa & jelly. Baked goods & yummy snack mixes as well as Russian Tea mix & homemade hot chocolate mix for the cold mornings. Please stop by the office today & grab some if you didn’t make it to our bake sale!
