Our flag pole area is getting all spruced up. 🇺🇸🌟

Andrew Beckman (light colored shirt) from Scout Troop # 542 is doing this for his Eagle project.

The planning started back in February when Andrew reached out to ER Wayne Meyer. Through a lot of meeting at the lodge, Scout council, the landloard and the city, it is now in the physical state of the process.

Andrew is also getting some assistances from his dad (in the dark shirt), other scouts and some others this weekend and they will be working on this project until it is completed.

We can't wait to see the finished project.

Ronald Christenson (RC), of Brooklyn Center, MN passed away August 21,2026 at the age of 79.

Ron had a generous heart.
He took his responsibilities to both work and community seriously.

He was a dedicated employee for the City of Golden Valley for 40+ years as an engineer.

Ron was a passionate person regarding friends, the Elks, his sports teams, and cribbage. His devotion to the Elks was undeniable. He was a 51-year member of Minneapolis Elks Lodge # 44, holding multiple Officer positions including; ER for 1981/1982, and again in 1993/1994, Secretary from 2003-2011, and Treasurer 2012/2013. RC was currently serving in the position of Esteemed Lecturing Knight and had been serving in that role since 2019.

He also received the Lodge # 44 awards of Officer of the Year 2000/2001 and Elk of the Year 2001/2002.

Ron was the cornerstone of Elks Lodge # 44. And made everyone around him feel seen and appreciated. He was well known and respected member of the Elks though the state of Minnesota.

Ron is survived by his cousin, Vicki Couillard and his extended Elks family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9 at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel. An Elks funeral service will follow at 11:00. Graveside service at Elks Rest at Lakewood Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, September 26, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Minneapolis Elks Lodge #44. Address 6812 Hemlock Lane N. Maple Grove, MN 55369.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover some of the funeral expenses can be made to the Minneapolis Elks Lodge # 44 with RC on the memo line. Any funds received over the amount needed will be donated to the Youth Camp in his name.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ron (RC) Christenson who left us on August 21, 2026. at the age of 79.
