Maydm Week Day 2 was EPIC!

Students were able to gain useful and unique skills in GIS mapping, a technology that transforms geographical data into digital maps and engage in a one of a kind unique lecture session with Curtis O'Dwyer a Doctoral Candidate of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison . Day one of our pre-internship training kicked off today and the energy was UNREAL. Our students walked in not knowing exactly what to expect and left prepared, equipped, and so excited for what's ahead.

Today marks a meaningful moment for Maydm — one of deep gratitude and real excitement.

We're saying thank you to Dr. Christina Outlay, whose leadership since 2022 grew our reach, strengthened our partnerships, and changed the lives of countless girls and youth of color across Madison. And we're welcoming Dr. Shakkiah Curtis as our new CEO — a strategist, entrepreneur, and tireless advocate for inclusion in tech who is ready to lead Maydm into its next chapter.

To Christina: thank you for everything you built. To Shakkiah: welcome. We can't wait for what's ahead.

The mission continues — and the future of STEM is getting more diverse, more talented, and more possible every day. 💜

Our Instructors are Officially in Training Mode! As instructor training continues for the second week, the instructors are coming together at the Maydm office to dig into Maydm programs curriculum and get ready to inspire the next generation of tech leaders!⚡
