Filipino Summer Day Camp 2026
Five Saturday afternoons: July 18 and 25; August 1, 8 and 15

The camp features two parallel sessions for younger and older kids. Campers will learn basic Tagalog language, while being introduced to Filipino music, regional cuisine, Filipino customs and values, hands-on art projects, popular literature and folklore, and traditional Filipino games and pastimes.

Lesson plans have been developed by Filipino American education experts and licensed professionals, who will also act as camp counselors.

Registration is now open. If you plan to register more than one Camper, you will need to fill up the form separately for each attendee.

Volunteer and help raise funds for PAMANA, as Brat Fest has selected PAMANA as its charity organization for this Memorial Day weekend event!

PAMANA will receive grants in exchange for volunteers willing to grill or wrap brats, be a cashier, stock condiments, or ensure the grounds are clean, among other opportunities!

For every hour of volunteer work on May 17-25, $12 goes to PAMANA.

Volunteers also receive:
- Brat Fest t-shirt
- Brat Buck (brat, hotdog, corn or soda)
- Free scoop of Chocolate Shoppe ice cream

Pick your role and shifts now, as positions quickly fill up. Tag along your friends and family to volunteer (minimum age: 14).

PAMANA participated in yesterday's International Featival held at Overture Center for the Arts in downtown Madison. We are grateful to our PAMANA board, volunteers, and volunteers from FASO Madison who made our booth engaging and high-traffic. After 50 years, UW-Madison will stop offering Filipino language courses. Administrators reasoned that this is due to budget cuts.

According to reports, other Southeast Asian (SEA) languages are "safe" from being axed by UW-Madison this fall. Only the Filipino program, which ironically brings in the highest enrollment among SEA language courses, will be taken down.

FASO invites everyone to attend a town hall meeting this Thursday, Feb. 12, 6 p.m (Central), at the Sewell Social Sciences Hall, Room 6203 (Address: 1180 Observatory Dr, Madison).

Join us for the Filipino Language Program Town Hall on Feb. 12 from 6-7 pm. The presentation and Q&A space will focus on educating our community about the current situation surrounding the Filipino Language Program and other Southeast Asian languages. We will also discuss why the Filipino course matters, along with the status of other Southeast Asian languages affected by budget cuts and what students can do about it. In addition, we will discuss the current fundraising situation and possible futures of the Filipino program. Speakers including Dr. Cullinane and FASO Co-President External, Charlie Woller.
